WBS Research Asks – Can The Public Sector Become Lean?

Research by Dr Zoe Radnor and Mr Paul Walley of Warwick Business School at the University of Warwick has found that the methods employed by Toyota, to make their production system "Lean", can be applied to public sector services. This could have a positive impact on employee morale, customer satisfaction and process efficiency.

University of Warwick Honorary Degrees announced for July 2006

The University of Warwick has announced that it is to award honorary degrees to 8 people in its July degree ceremonies including CBI chief Digby Jones and leading Hong Kong democracy campaigner The Honorable Martin Lee Chu Ming. Biographies of each honorary graduand and the degree they will be awarded follow below. A release detailing photo and interview opportunities on the day each will person will receive their degree will be issued nearer to the time.

Following on from our previous discussion with Henry Stott of Warwick's Psychology Deparment and Decision Technology, we examine how the predictions for the World Cup have performed so far and look forward to the knockout phase of the tournament.

Who has performed better than predicted? Who are the underperformers and are Brazil still favourites to lift the trophy. Have the England performances affected our chances of winning the tournament and what is the impact of the injury to Michael Owen. Does it really matter what formation Sven picks?
