Something Comical for Chemists!

Writing about web page http://www.privatehand.com/flash/elements.html

This is rather comical:

The Element Song by Tom Lehrer (to the tune of "A Modern Major General).

Atomic Pub Crawl and Free Concert Schedules

And again, on the night of the Free concert, Atomic are having their first pub-crawl.

(For those of you who don't know, Atomic is the Chemistry Dept Society)

It's really annoying. Last year I almost missed the crawl, because I had only just finished playing in the Wind Orchestra part of the concert, then had to run to the bus stop.

Now, I think i'll be playing in the Wind and Symphony Orchestras, which means I will miss a lot more of the crawls.

GRRR!

Hopefully, I'll be able to find Atomic after the concert.

And The Dresses!

Follow-up to The Atomic Ball – Saturday 21st May from Life, the University, and Everything!

Can I just say that Every Single Woman looked gorgeous last night.

I'm sorry I didn't point this out last night, but in my birthday drunken state, it sort of slipped my mind.

Can't wait to see those dresses again ;)

The Atomic Ball – Saturday 21st May

Writing about web page http://blogs.warwick.ac.uk/mcooper/gallery/atomic_ball/

On the evening of my 19th birthday, the "Atomic" ball was held.

We went over to the Bosworth Hotel in Leicestershire for a meal and entertainment from Carter, the union DJ.

It was immense fun, and I managed to take many photos.

Now, lets do some revision for my exam on Tuesday!

PS: I apologise if I do not know your name, please comment and I will add it to my photos. Thanks.

PPS: For those of you who were in one particular conversation: C, DD/E and E!

Pub Crawl 2 & Blogging Frequency

I have started to notice a lapse in the frequency of my entries. I was blogging almost once a day. That has now dropped to twice a week.

Is this bad or good?

Anyway,

Last night was the 2nd Atomic pub crawl.

WOO-HOO!

It was real good fun, but my lightweight-ness stopped me drinking :(

I feel ashamed that i didnt get a drink in each pub. I'm a failure!

But atomic rock!

can't wait for term 2: Birmingham Club Crawl :D

(Everyone, party at Stefan's afterwards! He agreed last night!)

My 1st RSC lecture

twas really good. i enjoyed the talk and the speaker was really good.

i went for a drink with the speaker and some others afterwards in the graduate, and in a way was slightly freaked out. I was out drinking, having a good time, with people who lectured me and who were definately older than me :S but it was good fun. we had conversations i could join in with, and it was good.

it seems unusual to go for a drink with any lecturer within 3 weeks at uni, but it happened, and i survived!

the next "club crawl" to birmingham should be fun!

Ta – ra!

1st Concert, then Atomic Pub Crawl

I was really annoyed.

i had realised that the night of the pub crawl was the same one as the free concert that the wind orchestra (that i had joined the day before) were playing in!

ARGHHH!!!

I so wanted to do both, but my sense of duty prevailed, and i went to the concert.

it was only then that i was told we were playing 3 pieces and if i was quick, i could catch the crawl before it had even left campus.

YEY!

So, after an appaling concert (by me, the wind orchestra as a whole was good), i ran home, and with my tuba because i still cannot get into the music store cupboard! i managed to change in double quick time, and then headed up to cholo just in case the crawl hadn't departed.

I'd missed them there, but there was still hope. i sprinted outside and looked across towards the main bus stop. there were people. lots of people. too many for a normal tuesday night bus queue.

HOORAY!

and so i have a minutes wait at the bus stop before boarding a bus to coventry (that decides to wait for 10 mins before leaving the uni) and it begins.

I now realise that i have 7 pubs to go to tonight, and i havn't eaten well, and i'm a lightweight.

:S oops :S

but i am determined to make it a proper night, and manage to get a drink in each of the pubs we went to. but we did skip one pub, due to the large amount of people needing to get the bus to campus, and lack of time.

it was a good thing for me, because i was having trouble doing many things, and another pint may just have sent me over the edge of stability.

All in all, it was a very good night, and i managed to impress some second years with my pint-downing. They strongly disagreed with the fact i had a packet of crisps with one of my pints, so the pint had to go before i could eat more. so, with much (and bloomin' loud) encouragement, i finished my drink and continued.

that was the biggest shame, that there was a time limit, so i never had time to finish a drink in my own time. a lot of "drink up"s were heard, and carried out, which added to my almost unstableness.

So i tell you all, pub crawls are fun, even with the chemistry society, just dont drink excessive amounts. it looked nasty.

ta-ra!
