And so it cam to pass that i attended the halloween ball at the university or warwick students union.
i had fun, met fun people, and had a good time.
anoyingly i had forgotten my keys, and because i lost my housemates, i couldn't get into my flat, so had to kip on someones floor. thanks (you know who u r!)
so to everyone i hung about with, thanks for making it great event.
And "optimus prime" will live forever!

And so i am actually ready, and about an hour before the ball is due to start!
What is wrong with me. i am always a last minute person!
and sis, ure gonna kill me, but someones spiked my hair up! and its purple! this is gonna be weird!
have fun everyone, and i'll talk again after the ball.

Why do i always end up being the last person to leave the lab?
My lab partner and i always seem to be a long way behind people, but i have no idea why! I do realise that our particular bench does get a good explination of what we are about to do at the start, whereas others just rely on the pre-lab talk, but the rest of our bench still finish ahead of us.
it's slightly annoying!
If i knew we were being ridiculously slow at something, then i could understand, but we are working as fast as we can.
it's SO unfair!

i have only just realised that the pre-lab talk on friday morning has moved from where it has been since term started.
It is not in L4. It is in room(s) B213/4.
AND: it is at 11am, not 10am!
i know cos i checked the online timetable.
anyone know where that is?
tell people you realise do not blog, and wont find this.
see u 2moro

can someone be addicted to blogging?
i have been blogging, on average, about once a day, but do not feel the need to blog all the time. i use it as a means of communicating my opinions at certain events.
yet today i received a slightly disgruntled email.
"[i am writing to inform you]......of my concern at the recent reduction of current material on your blog. Thus, leading me to the conclusion that you are working far to hard on stuff and not pissing your time up the wall enough. As a result I highly recommend (otherwise known as demand) you to write more blogs and emails!"
So i have been told: GET ADDICTED and DO IT P.D.Q.!!!
(for those of you who don't know what i am going on about, pdq = pretty damn quick!)

Top B' has been an event that i have managed to avoid so far this term. The weekly "cheese" music night on monday evenings has never appealed to me. It didn't help that there seemed to be a rather large queue for the first Top B which has put me off.
But last night was a bit different.
On every monday night so far, there have been people around in my whitefields flat to have convwersations with, and have some fun. but last night there seemed to be only 1 other person in my flat, and we were both busy.
So, when i finally finished my lab report, i decided to brave the union on a monday for the first time.
As i enter, i realise that Top B is really popular, as i cannot get near a bar for about an hour. The "marketplace" dancefloor is packed, and everyone is singing along to all those dodgy pop songs that we all love to hate. When i find my friends, it is inevitable that we all head to the marketplace, and squeeze into the already packed dancefloor.
It is insane. I have never seen people enjoying music by groups like five and steps as much as this. some real classic songs were played as well, with YMCA producing a stage invasion with everybody doing as many actions as their drunken state would allow them to remember. Even though i am not an "up for it" dancer, it was so much fun.
So thanks, union, for another good night. just please, when i dont go to your events, can you keep the noise down, because the bass from the music is shaking my flat! I dont want the union to cause my home to collapse!

I sometimes don't understand the union's way of organising events.
Now the union hosts many good events, and if a particular event is not suited to you, then you can usually go to the graduate to avoid that event.
Here is where my music style knowlede gets blurred.
To me, lots of the music that is played at "soul nation" is very similar to RnB. As they are so similar, then why does the graduate host an RnB night at the same time as "soul nation" is going on in the rest of the union?
I wanted to go out for a drink with people, and none of us wanted to listen to either event while we had this drink. I find it unfair that different parts of the union were hosting similar nights of entertainment when, with the graduate entrance through union north open, the graduate can host a much more varying night to the rest of the union. OR, even no event at all.
I enjoy the graduate's pub atmosphere, and think it is spoiled by hosting events in there.
the Graduate is a pub, leave it as such.

twas really good. i enjoyed the talk and the speaker was really good.
i went for a drink with the speaker and some others afterwards in the graduate, and in a way was slightly freaked out. I was out drinking, having a good time, with people who lectured me and who were definately older than me :S but it was good fun. we had conversations i could join in with, and it was good.
it seems unusual to go for a drink with any lecturer within 3 weeks at uni, but it happened, and i survived!
the next "club crawl" to birmingham should be fun!
Ta – ra!
