Brasssoc Contest Approaches!

The Brasssoc contest in Leamington Spa is approaching. On the Sunday at the end of week 9, the University of Warwick Brass Band will be playing A piece that cannot be named as no-one is meant to find out in case they tell the adjudicator!

So, we'll finish playing by about midday, then on to the pub to start drinking!

Eventually we'll try and go for the infamous "Survivor's Curry", but who knows how many people will make it!?

Unfortunately, I have labs the day after, which should be interesting to say the least!

Now to look forward to the extra contest band rehearsals!

  3. As I recall though, you also sat an exam the day after Whit Friday, so you should have experience of that sort of thing!

  4. I'd like it to be noted that I ALWAYS make it to the survivor curry. Unlike certain flugal horn players I also manage to stay awake at the table.

I may have to take a flex morning on that Monday…

I was thinking of taking a half day on the Monday but Matt told me not to be such a wuss. So 7am train to Euston it is. Again. And this time it's going to be one of those tilting buggers. Not good.

At least this time I don't have to drive you to the station after four hours' sleep, 11 pints or so the previous day (so not quite sober) and with hurting arms from that stupid pub quiz tiebreaker.

Ever since they scheduled orchestra and chorus concerts on the same night it's stopped being a true 'survivors' curry because loads of people suddenly turn up late and sober.

    Now back in my day…...
