Start–up Website Assistance

Follow-up to Start–up Websites Using Google Page Creator from MJB's blog

Following the initial success with creating a simple website for the new start-up company Hotch Potch, I have used the same approach and created another new start-up business website using Google Page Creator. The new start-up is called JF Cleaning Services and their website can be found at www.jf-cleaning.co.uk. This company is the latest start-up to receive fully funded support from the WMCCM start-up programme, full details of which can be found at www.startup-support.co.uk.

Start–up Websites Using Google Page Creator

Writing about web page http://www.hotchpotchfun.co.uk

As part of of my work on the WMCCM (West Midlands Collaborative Marketplace) Start-up Project, I had a need to help a new start-up company called Hotch Potch get a new website up and running to a very tight deadline, but with the ability to allow the client to easily evolve over the site over time without html or web design skills.

A colleague suggested using Google Page Creator which I did after conducting a quick evaluation.  In just a couple of hours I was able to easily structure and populate a professional looking website which the client is very pleased with. Although there are some limitations in the styles of site available, I believe there is sufficient scope for producing customised sites for start-ups that can quickly provide them with a valuable and effective hosted web presence for free, with the only cost being for domain name registration if they want a more professional web address than the Google provided one.

I would recommend the use of this online package for anyone wanting a quick, easy to use, essentially free web presence.

New Start–up Assistance from WMCCM

Writing about web page http://www.aladyplumber.co.uk/

As part of a new push to sign up new start-up companies within the West Midlands for free assistance via WMCCM, I visited an enterprising new plumbing business today called Bubbles. The company is operational and has a website which is not yet recognised by the major search engines.

Following Rob McGonigle's success in rapidly solving this problem for another new start-up as reported in his recent blog entry Links get sites found & Warwick Blogs links work Fast & cuts carbon!, I am using his recommended approach here.  Given the time that other methods can take to get sites recognised by search engines, this is a real quick win way of providing valuable assistance to new start-up businesses.

Full details of the WMCCM free assistance offerings for start-up companies and the conditions for eligibility can be found at our new sub-site www.startup-support.co.uk.
