I really appreciate a person who can sing well. I liked Alanis Morisette for this reason, plus her songs were quite heartfelt to her and that came across. This album is the same, with "The Flowers" and "Us" being the two highlights in an eccentric "anti-folk" album that's bursting of quirky smile-inducing songs. If you go to the cinema, you might recognise the latter on the Sky Sports skate-boarding advert.
If you do "buy" this album, go and "buy" her album 'Begin to Hope' too; or you'll miss out on
"Hey remember that month
when I only ate
boxes of Tangerines?
(so cheap and juicy)
Tangerines!"
Heather Doole
Alanis Morisette might sing well, and it might be heartfelt, but she sure as Hell doesn't understand the meaning of the word ironic. Which is, actually, rather ironic…

Thank you! Been trying to find out who sings the song used in the Sky Sports skate–boarding ad and happened across your blog whilst searching fruitlessly elsewhere. I shall go out and buy both her albums now :–)

Thank you. Not sure if the whole album is amazing but its pretty solid apart from that awful honour song. Regina certainly deserves the whole f–i–v–e stars just for being her quirky self and making her music very personal which is refreshing and strangely hard to find anywhere!
