Synechococcus and Prochlorococcus RNA extractions

At the ISMGP meeting in Roscoff (8–11 July) it was evident that many people were using a diverse collection of methods for extracting RNA from marine Syn and _Pro_Clearly there is a lot of experience and information that we can share for mutual benefit. For example, Chris Dupont from Scripps suggested some modifications to the Trizol/RNeasy method for Syn WH8102. I tried Chris's suggestions and obtained an immediate 2-fold increase in yield. Thank's Chris!
