Reflecting
When I first came to Warwick i applied for everything, right from one world week to the economics forum. I attended countless interview after interview and was rejected from all these forums and recently I was rejected from the Warwick India Forum and the Warwick Welcoming Services. When analysing why this was happening I realised that I have a few major shortcomings and I need to make some major changes in order to be successful. The first thing that needs to be changed is my poor time management skills and my lack of prioritising activities. I come ten minutes late for most of my lectures and seminars, never have to time to re-read my assignments before I sumbit them and I have even started this blog a week before I have to!
I also have to start being more social and network more with people and improve my people skills.
Recently I also did very badly in a formative essay because I did not use structure my arguments in the correct way. In order to be more successful I have decided to take the following measures:
Start perparing and getting ready to leave half an hour to every lecture and limit the time on social networking website
Attend all of Model United Nations meeting and not miss any one of them
Get involved with one of the charities on campus, perhaps oxfam
Attend the Talk by the economics society this thursday and network and interact with people in the society
Start work on my essay which is due two weeks later today itself
I have also enrolled in the academic seminar on speedy reading and how to write academic essays so that I improve on the academic front as well
Instead of going back to my room after every lecture I have decided to go to the library in between lectures and catch up on the reading for the lecture on the spot
