Follow-up to Blog 3 for the P1 workshop from Mahima's blog
Dear Samina,
Although I have not had the time to write a follow-up for the blog because of exams I thought I should take the time out today to update you on some of my action points:
Networking skills:
I was selected to be a part of the warwick international development summit which I feel is a great opportunity. I also aim next year to take part in TEDx at Warwick as well as to join the debating society. I also want to try out for the talks team in Warwick One World Week. I think this year I have gained some experience by helping organize warwick MUN and will be in a better position to volunteer for these societies. I have also continued writing for the Summit Magazine. My last article was published in the issue on Migration and I will also have an article published in the next issue on volunteerism. Next year I also want to take out to do some community service and I am thinking of becoming an ambassador for teach first for the Warwick campus
Essay Writing:
I feel that my essay writing skills have improved to a great extent after I realized how to structure my answers. I am not getting 2:1 in most of my essays and I even got a first in one essay. Although I still think there is room for improvement. I have decided to write skeleton essays for all my submissions next year as these greatly help in having a coherrent structure and argument. I also want to attend the workshop on writing skills next term which I wasnt able to do last term
Time Management:
I think that spending less time online has greatly helped me with regards to time management. Next year I aim to keep pace with all my reading and do the reading before every lecture as I feel that will help me keep pace with the lecture as well. I have decided to take my laptop/ or a pad or paper to every lecture in order to take down notes. I didnt take down any notes this year in lectures and I think that put me at a disadvantage. I am also going to try an be more regular at lectures especially towards the end of the term and not miss more than two or three lectures a term in any one module
