Pedants' Corner

Standing in the queue for the checkout at the Co-op today, I noticed that there were notices up saying 'alcohol cannot be sold to under 18s.' Now, anyone who is even more pedantic than me is free to correct me, but shouldn't it be something like 'alcohol may not be sold etc.' or even 'alcohol will not be sold etc.'? After all, it's not a physical impossibility to sell alcohol to someone underage, just a legal one. Anyone else have any particularly egregious errors of spelling, punctuation, and grammar to moan about?
