Gritters on the streets of Birmingham

Writing about web page http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_midlands/4107002.stm

According to the article above, Birmingham will have gritters, that's right, gritters, out on the road this weekend. Now, I know that being prepared is a good thing, but one can't help but think that the timing, coming as it does on a weekend which is as hot as hellfire, is just a little ironic.

  2. I remember one year back at home where the council had their fleet of gritters undergoing maintence because they weren't expecting bad weather. Guess what, it proceeded to snow and was really icy.

    Now thats planning!
