A few of you have come to see with with concerns about the close reading assignment that is due in next week. Please make sure that you have read all the information contained on the departmental website, paying particular attention to the Essay Writing Guide and remember to pose yourself similar questions to those we formulated in our discussion of ‘Tintern Abbey.’

For further information about close reading you may like to take a look at this website. Also, I would recommend An Introduction to English Poetry by James Fenton as a helpful guide to the form and shape of poetry.
