I couldn't believe the news today - Weston-Super-Mare Pier burnt down! This is so sad. I spent many happy memories there as a child and I loved the pier in all its cheesy amusement arcade glory as well as the great fun it was walking up and down it. I hope they will be able to rebuild it.

...filling a large cage with music so that it's so heavy it loses all steering capabilities then attempting to steer said cage 300 yards in the boiling heat.
...wearing flip-flops and a skirt to attempt said task.
Feck! Seriously, why do I think these things are a good idea?

Well, it's been over a month since last I wrote. oops. I don't seem to feel the urge to write on here anymore. Perhaps I have become lazy or perhaps I just don't want to share everything anymore. I don't think it's because my life is so dull I can't think of anything to write about, but I guess neither is it so amazingly exciting I think anyone will actually WANT to read about it!
But just in case you do...
This week is likely to be quite interesting. Apparently I'm supposed to get my LPC results on Tuesday (although some sources say 22nd, others say 29th but noone seems to really know (the college included)) so at that point I'll know whether it's all been worth it or whether my Summer is ruined by resits! I very much hope not to ever have to go back to that place again, but you know when you get that sinking feeling...I very much have that. Still, I don't know anything yet. Fingers crossed I'll pass, and then... well then I have to decide what my next step is! Therein lies the challenge.
These last few days I've had quite a lot of time to myself, it's been nice in some ways and quite lonely in others. I've enjoyed watching lots of neighbours (I'm currently caught up to about the 7th July...) and playing loads of piano (my trill fingers hurt quite a lot typing this!) but I've not liked being in the house on my own at night, it's quite big for just me! You do get more done when on your own, but it's not quite as much fun and it's very quiet. Still, every once in a while doesn't hurt.
It's very quiet at work at the moment. Graduations over, there's just me in the office. Got plenty of bits and pieces to do but it's completely silent, something my office isn't very good at being during term! I'm thinking of making use of my lunch hours to learn the Sax. Always wanted to and why not? Everyone says it's easy if you're already a clarinet player so that's encouraging, and it's just a case of notebashing first and then working on tone, technique, style etc. It would be a good skill to have under my belt.
So what have I been up to in the last month...well, I helped organise some pretty good concerts towards the end of term, I finally managed to visit home and had a brilliant time with pool matches, Winstons Ice Cream, a garage BBQ (was very rainy) plus garage badminton (played with tennis rackets) and Rod Stewart (was the only tape in the garage, played many many times...) and I've had some lovely evenings with friends at various housewarmings and birthday parties. Despite the rather cold/wet weather we've not let it spoil our fun and we had a great day out at Alton Towers and have been getting rather into tennis (Westwood courts are great!). Went to see Kung Fu Panda in Rugby which was great, and had a Pixar spree in the Play.com sale so have been enjoying watching those (Cars - what a great film...loving Jeremy Clarkson as Harv!)
So...lots of things. Lots more to look forward to, keeping me happy :-)
