Writing about an entry you don't have permission to view

This is it!!

I did feel that due to the fact that the A Level students were not able to be involved in this exercise, it remained very dry for me. I think that few of us get much out of cutting and pasting other people's work into a document and presenting it as our own.

In contrast, when we went round and viewed the other groups' work, I found it quite interesting - some topics more than others.

THis was our creation yesterday morning. It looks good, it was a bit of fun to do, but I felt it was time consuming and not much maths was learnt. The earlier task of a 'Treasure Hunt' type exercise was preferable and easily differentiable.

I enjoyed this task. I think our Group work quite well together when in discussion. Nobody dominates, no non-contributors. The difficult part was the Lesson Plan. Lots to make us think but not many definite answers yet.

Lesson Outline – Linear Equations Not publicly viewable

Group 2

Lesson Outline - Linear Equations

Aim: to understand all aspects of straight line graphs

Lesson Objective: to be able to plot straight line graphs for given equations (by using table of values)

Prior Vocabulary: x-axis, y-axis, co-ordinates, table of values, x-value, y-value

New Vocabulary: intercept, x-intercept, y-intercept, equation of a line

Possible misconceptions: all graphs go upwards from left to right,

all graphs are in the +ve x/ +ve y quadrant, all graphs are straight,

all graphs start at/go through (0,0), straight line graphs are finite

Key Questions: What do you already know about straight line graphs?

If I tell you the value of x, how will you work out what the value of y is?
