Library opening hours this weekend

This is just a reminder that the Library will be closed this Saturday and Sunday (August 11 & 12) until 19:30.

This is because the contractors will be carrying out a particularly noisy phase of the Remodelling project and they have advised us that the environment will be extremely difficult for anyone to work or study in.

We apologise for the inconvenience but if you do have a particular problem with regard to this closure please email libremodel@warwick.ac.uk

Saturday 28 July – Severe Noise Disruption

On Saturday 28 July the contractors will begin the preparation work on Floor 2 for a major part of the Library Remodelling project.  This is likely to be very noisy and we are advising people that it would be wise to plan their visits to the Library over the weekend to avoid the worst of the disruption during the day.

Changes to Short Loan Collection

The Short Loan Collection (SLC) stock is being moved from Floor 2 to Floor 3 in the Library.  This will enable us to continue to clear the second floor in readiness to hand it over to the contractors later this month.

The resources from SLC are still easily available, you just need to visit the temporary service desk on floor 3 and request your item.(mappdf.)

Access to Theses will now be limited to week days only, during office hours.  Please contact the Modern Records Centre for more information.

Library Remodelling – images of Floor 1

The Remodelling project is now really underway and the porters, student helpers and contractors have made a good start on dismantling the fixtures and fittings on Floor 1 of the Library. If you want to see what Floor 1 looks like devoid of people then visit the week 1 image gallery

There is some more information on stock moves too.  Floors 2, 3 and 4 are currently undergoing some stock relocation to create space for expansion.  If you can't find a particular resource then visit  the service desk on Floor 3 and ask, they will be more than happy help.

The enquiry desk on Floor 4 has been closed because it is very close to some shelving that is being erected.  If you have an enquiry about education, offical publications or law then go to the Floor 3 service desk and they will call the subject librarian to deal with your enquiry.
