Library Vacation Access

The Library will close at midnight on Wednesday 23 December.

It will re-open on Tuesday 29 December 2009 until Thursday 31st December 2009 (inclusive) from 11.00 until 17:30 on a self service basis only.

Normal opening hours (08:30-00:00) will resume on Saturday January 2nd 2010.

Trick or Treat stand – Library 1st Floor – TODAY !

Today, the Library is arranging  a stand on Floor 1 of the Library, providing students with key, basic  Library information.  There will be treats available for correct answers 

We hope that it will be a fun way of getting information to Library users. Enjoy !

Library closure Monday 31 August

The Library will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday 31 August 2009, reopening on Tuesday 1 September at 8:30am. The Learning Grid will be open as normal.

Change to Library Opening Hours

On Saturday 13 June the Library opening hours will return to the normal opening hours of 08:30-00:00.

The summer stewards will finish patrolling the Library at 9pm on Friday 12 June.

E–Duke Scholarly Collection Trial

The Library currently have access to a trial of e-Duke Scholarly Collection. This collection includes access to more than 100 new scholarly books published by Duke University Press in the humanities and social sciences within a calender year. The trial ends on 20th December 2008. To access this trial please visit the Library Trialswebpage.

In addition it would be great if you could let us know any comments that you have about this trial. You can do this by contacting your Subject Librarian.

Undergraduate Christmas Vacation Loans

Just to let you know that from Monday 1st December 2008 standard loans will be due back week beginning 5th January 2009. Please Note that there will be no recalls on these loans, 3 day loans will remain as 3 day loans and there is no change to the short Loan items.

Medieval and Early Modern Sources Online Trial

The Library is currently hosting a trial for Medieval and Early Modern Sources Online.This database provides access to "a large and growing resource of essential medieval and early modern sources online." The collection is made up of a"library of books essential to the study of medieval and early modern Britain and Ireland."

This trial ends on 4th December 2008. Please contact a member of the arts team to let us know what you think about the resource.
