Trick or Treat stand – Library 1st Floor – TODAY !
Today, the Library is arranging a stand on Floor 1 of the Library, providing students with key, basic Library information. There will be treats available for correct answers

ISI Web of Knowledge – New Search Tools

New search tools have been added to ISI Web of Knowledge. These allow a user to conduct a Topic search across the ISI Web of Knowledge and easily perform an 'All Databases search'.
Web Browser search extension
The search extension allows a user to easily perform an 'All Databases search' directly from their browser's search bar (only FireFox 2 and IE 7 are supported.)
ISI Web of Knowledge Widget - Desktop
The widget is an icon that users can download directly to their desktop to perform a search of ISI Web of Knowledge. Search terms can be entered directly into the box.

Web Page insert - search box
Librarians and administrators can download this search box directly to their libraries’ web pages, so that users can take advantage of a more direct search of the resource. Please note there will be a check for authentication to access the resource when using these tools.

Off–campus Access to E–Resources

To access the Library's e-resources when you are off campus you will only need your Warwick login which will be automatically authenticated.
Some Athens based services will ask you to set up your Warwick login as an Athens login. You will only need to do this once to gain access to all databases the Library subscribes to.

Check it Out

The Check It Out sessions will take about half an hour and will include a tour of Floor 1, demonstrations of how to use the self-issue and return machines, an overview of short loan, photocopying and printing, a demonstration of how to use the library catalogue and the opportunity to ask questions.
Everyone who comes along will receive free library rock and pens along with some helpful hand outs. There will even be the chance to win one of 15 USB sticks if you give us your feedback on the session!
You can sign up during office hours from Thursday 7th October on Floor 1 of the Main Library at the “Check It Out” desk.
Places are limited so please do sign up in advance.

Warwick Launches on Youtube EDU

The University is building on its success with Warwick on iTunesU by launching a new YouTube presence as part of YouTube's higher education initiative, Youtube EDU. This new service brings together video content from universities around the world.

A Duck, For Mr Darwin

A Duck for Mr. Darwin is a group exhibition of nine contemporary artists exploring evolutionary thinking and the theory of natural selection.
Transforming the Mead Gallery at Warwick Arts Centre from 8 Oct – 9 Dec the exhibition will feature sculpture, drawing, painting, film and installation. Focusing on the legacy of Charles Darwin’s ideas, A Duck for Mr Darwin is informed by the spirit of experimentation which was so distinctive to the time in which he lived.
