Benchmarking
Within asset and Knowledge management I find interesting the way organizations can implement Benchmarking, because it links people, partnership, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement. I think it is a useful tool that can help people to develop a deeper thinking process by "inspiring" their work on what they see from others, modelling and adapting factors that can be suitable for their own situations. Also, it is a way to create closer relations with external stakeholders, to share information, knowledge and to create a cooperation environment, on the other hand, it creates a way to maintain fluent knowledge spreading and sharing, it creates a route of contact and continuous communication between people belonging to the organizations involved, last but not list it is a way to maintain improvement, by monitoring and controlling what is benchmarked and by finding ways to improve what is observed in the same process.
I think this practice helps organizations not just to develop a plan or to manage assets, it helps organization to perform better managing people, partnership, resources and providing a thinking and knowledge based environment towards continuous improvement.

People AM and KM
Talking about Knowledge and Asset management, there are many models that organizations can apply in order to develop programmes of development. On relevant fact, is that people can be the driver for many of them, as long as people are trained to implement the tools things can definitively work better. The point is that I find really useful that fact of using models that go around people. Teams, as centre of many tasks can really help an organization to improve, identifying pitfalls, providing ideas, sharing them and socializing them are crucial steps that commonly are overlooked. On the other hand, using people appropriately is a big winning! Organization don´t need to expend huge amounts of money acquiring innovate or technological tools, the best solutions for something that doesn't work as it should is there! Just inside the organization. I think this is one of the biggest and useful things I’ve learned until now and definitively I'll apply it in the future.
KBAM asset management
During the development of the presentation for WR's asset and knowledge management I found important the fact of managing the different kind of assets as a whole system. Although it was a difficult and extent task due to the large number of them and the complexity of the topic, the way those are connected make the job efficient and also easier!
This issue can be useful because once an aspect of asset management is included in a plan and developed and liked with related areas, it is highly possible that other aspects of asset management have been covered. In this way I think that selecting relevant topics for each aspect and finding the corresponding links could help to do better a plan for asset management. The more inter-connected they are the more easy the job can be, and therefore if it is done in a coordinated and efficient way a systematic way will be created automatically. This is a relevant part towards excellence and a useful way to develop plans that I can probably use in the near future.

KBAM Explicit and Tacit Knowledge
One of the most important things regarding knowledge management is the ability to transform tacit to explicit knowledge this is a relevant process and I think it is crucial from my perspective because knowledge is actually knowledge when it becomes explicit, before that the tacit knowledge is inside people´s minds and there is no way to understand them or to analyse and interpret it without being materialized in forms of mental models, frameworks, graphics, tables and so on. I think that this process is always necessary when knowledge is used. Moreover, in working contexts we usually are part of teams when contact is necessary, so the ability to transform it is going to be perceived and is going to be developed once constant interchange is needed to deal with tasks.
This kind of concepts are useful because when managing people and work at the same time, we can be aware of the necessity of using the appropriate way of doing the transformation, I mean, using personal contact, narrative ways, or graphic tools. This process is inherent to all our activities, but the more we are aware of them, the more we can care about improving the way we deal with them.

KBAM_Prevention, Prediction and OL
There is one point which I find relevant in the respect of the Unclear and Present Danger Workshop. The cases were centred in factors that demonstrated a lack of human attention, prevention or prediction therefore many of them finalized in big catastrophes costing injures and human lives. What I want to highlights from today's learning is that all of them are related to information; the way it was manipulates, forgotten, or interpreted, Information is not just the key of learning is a tool to care and preserve products, services, people and assets.
This issue is useful because it is absolutely crucial to maintain stability in organizations. The more information is available the more control of factors it will appear. In this manner I think the two biggest learning in this respect for my future will be: how to manage it and how to transfer it; both actions are interdependent, they cannot live one without each other, they are extremely linked. Having the Information is not enough, it is important to transform it in knowledge for all and each one in a company, and to be sure that it has been understood in the same way for example mental models should be unified in terms of security! and distribute the appropriate information is also crucial.
On the other hand transferring knowledge is key to because it opens windows for new opportunities, in interconnects areas and increases learning. Both, managing and transferring knowledge are the building blocks of prevention and prediction.

RDM 10 People involvement
Talking about generating options and alternatives, tools such as brainstorms and mind mapping can be helpful to enhance decision making processes. Both of them can involve teamwork, knowledge sharing, collective learning and the most important thing from my perspective is that those tools create a cooperative environment when uncertainty appears. One of the most relevant things of decision making processes is to take people as a motor of the whole process, individuals are those who work on daily tasks, the understand details and know specific data about all the components of the complete organization, now, if all those parts are put together and are interconnected, probably efficiency could appear as an advantage and multiple creative and real options can be modelled in order to build a complete and structured decision.
KBAM 4 Maintenance Management
One of the most relevant issues that I have found within Maintenance Management is the second and third generation types of action. That is preventive and predictictive, the former refers to take the appropriate actions in order to evade possible harm derived from what we already know that it is likely or possible to happen, the later goes further and states that it is possible to foresee what could happen in different situations.
In like manner, I think this predictive maintenance management is important and useful for any kind of business because it is a practical way to link external (and internal) factors to assets. From my perspective the more tight this relation is then the more efficiency and efficacy would be encountered in the different activities developed to preserve and to manage assets in a safety way. Nevertheless, I would highlight that people, is a crucial factor in this "kind of management", because people are drivers of knowledge and help the mentioned relation become stronger.

KBAM 3 Knowledge Management
One common issue that I have found in the Asset and Knowledge Management is the relevance of Information Systems. From my personal perception and experience I think Information Systems are crucial due to various reasons. On the one hand this is the information age, technology and system facilities are always more and more introduced and used inside economies and industries, therefore companies can use them in order to evolve and develop practices according to the new age. On the other side, knowledge is the motor of organizations performance, and therefore it is necessary to have the appropriate methods to keep, manage and share it. IT, and knowledge management are extremely linked. In this manner, I find this very useful because although there is reticence inside working environments, those tools are effective ways to learn, to share and to implement practices, and at the same time the introduce a development and evolution component within organizations.
RDM 9
Corporate values are important components of an organization and are relevant when decision making processes take place. From one point personal feelings and values might affect but on the other side overlooking the mission and values of the organization can happen without any specific reason and are just inherent to decision making processes.
This particularity is quite important and I find it very common from my personal experience. During the simulation exercise individuals were more concerned about being cost-effective, about saving money or about getting the most strategically located location. Although all the mentioned worries were important, I found that most of the time there was a need to follow a path or an objective, which I think was true due to the importance of bearing in mind the mission of the company and the objective of the specific project. Once the group of individuals have these issues clear as a common denominator, the decision process can be guided in a more effective way and the tools might be addressed according to the mission and core values.
