Tonight is Danny Schmidt down The Tin Angel.
Wednesday is the last (at least for the time being, though Justine may be finding an alternate venue) acoustic night at Scholars. I may have to give this one a miss though as I already feel like I'm developing a cold and I'm not sure I can handle being out 4 nights in a row, even though I usually drive to this one so won't be drinking.
Thursday night Is my regular night out anyway Down at the Hope and Anchor, this is always worth going to but this week they have got some chap from the states called AM who I have never heard of before but sounds good on his website, along with Kristy and a couple of other local regulars.
Friday is Beneva's monthly event at the Earlsdon Cottage this months guests include Jon Gomm who is well worth catching.
I think I'll have Saturday night off, ready to start/end the week off again sunday night down the Tin angel as usual

When I got my new laptop, connecting to the university network it would not allow me to connect to the ENG-3 workgroup. Regardless of what name I gave the machine It kept complaining about a duplicate name.
I finally tracked the problem down to the network node type being 'mixed' rather than 'hybrid'. Don't ask me what these mean however the fix is to change the registry entry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NetBT\Parameters\DhcpNodeType to 8
The current node type can be found typing 'ipconfig /all' in a command prompt window.

I Had a call on my mobile earlier from Insight earlier, which instantly made me suspicious as hardly anyone ever calls my mobile, and usually if they ask for me using my full name they are trying to sell me something. This time however I had a pleasant surprise, apparently I have won the Ipod mini they were offering as an incentive to return the M$ license agreement for my new laptop. Unfortuantely I may have to wait a few weeks before they actually get round to sending it out but stilll I look forward to having a new toy to play with, and it will give me time to finish copying all my cd's ont my Hard disk , so far I have only managed to get through the ones that don't fit in my cd racks.
