Euro 2004
Ok am starting to get a bit excited now only a week and a bit till it starts, so any predictions??
I'm gonna be absurdly optimistic and go for England.
As long as Sven gets the midfield right and Terry and Campbell form a strong partnership quickly we'll have a decent chance.
Anyone else got any words of wisdom?

Trains!
Whats going on with the trains??? i need to get from Wales to Coventry on Monday night – i dont think it will be affected apart from a replacement bus to get me from Birmingham to Cov – does anyone know any differently?
you would think the fourth richest country (or whatever we are) in the world would be able to cobble together a decent transport network but of course its not that straightforward is it!!!!!!!!!!

Impala Lounge Volume One
Have just bought this two cd set which is a 'pure selection of Afro Beats and Electro Tunes' – is seriously good – very cool, very funky, easy to listen too, even has a track by Cesaria Evora who played the arts centre the other day (did anyone go, how was it?)
anyway this is well worth a look for any one who likes afro beat, african music or just good funky tunes

BNP
We got a BNP leaflet through the door the other day and unsurprisingly it's a complete load of crap. Apparently 'Asylum is allowing hundreds of 'asylum bombers' to plan their atrocities in Britain…' hmmm… im not really gonna go on and say much more or i may implode with fury…
by the way did anyone read thta interview t'other day with Nick Griffin's daughter – i really felt that they let her off lightly in that and should have been much more ruthless with her…

Web art gallery
Writing about web page http://gallery.euroweb.hu/
This is a great site for art of the Gothic Renaissance and Baroque periods, it has thousands of high quality images as well as plenty of good starting information on each artist – which unlike a lot of websites seems to be accurate.
A very good resource for the art hitorians among you!

Fixed Drain
Follow-up to Our House from Loz's blog
Woo – hoo, finally the drain is unblocked – was full of rotting leaves and stagnant water – now wonder it stank. However will have to wait until Monday to get an electrician round to sort out the shower, ah well only five odd weeks left in this house so surely not that much can go wrong before then…...anyway i must now go and do some art – we have to put up an exhibition on Weds and i havent been doing enough work all year

Our House
We have 2 major problems with our house at the moment –
1. the drain outside the kitchen is blocked – and smells – bad
2. the shower no longer seems to work – it only does cold
we have told the PLU people but no sign of anyone yet – it must be sorted out quickly though – i had to go to campus to have a swim and therefore use the showers this morning – it cant go on!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First Entry
YoI am second year studying History of Art (and a bit of Italian .. oh and practical art too)... er… well now I live in Chapelfields in the wonderful city of Coventry with four housemates who study various combinations of histroy and politics. I had my first exam yesterday – my Italian Oral, which went suprisingly well – i gave a presentation about 'il mio tempo libero' (my free time) and then they asked me a few questions for which i was able to cobble together some half decent sentences.
erm… i think thats pretty much it for my first entry …. now i'll go and try to think of some interesting things for next time
