An introduction to Skills Development and the Warwick Skills Portfolio

Attending the workshop yesterday was of massive benefit to me! I learnt I'm a reflector and a theorist, not really a pragmatist and definitely not an activist. This wasn't particularly shocking news to me, however, it confirmed that I really need to do something about my weaker areas.

So... my targets leading up to the end of term are:

  • Try to be more relevant! At the moment I tend worry about long term solutions, instead of focusing on the 'now' -this tends to distract me from the things that need to be done immediately. In the coming weeks I aim to be more focussed on short term tasks, for example essays and reading.
  • Being much more single minded. I am very easily distracted and sometimes end up doing things at the last minute. My aim is to set targets for myself, which I must complete before I go off and do something else. It's all about a clear plan and an attainable goal!

    Wish me luck :)
