What do you get if you tell a workaholic not to work?

After a few hours of discussion last night, I was persuaded to not do any work today. However, I am finding this very challenging, and hence am trying to write a lentghy blog entry to fill up time before Wind Orchestra.

Having made it to bed about 1am, I set the alarm for 11, thinking that when I woke up I would only have time to get ready, and then I could go onto campus and the music would distract me from work. However, I just don't seem to be able to manage a lie-in! Admittedly, I didn't wake up (for the umpteenth time) until 10am which is a new record for me, but it now means I have an hour to kill!

It would be very nice to have a day off from work, but I am not sure my consience will allow me – the problem of being a workaholic!!

I am not going to waffle anymore, so you are all safe; no-one will die of boredom as a result of reading this entry!

Let's see how long I can make breakfast, and making a packed lunch last, chances are it will be less than 1 hour though so I think I may have a quick look at an assignment, but don't tell anyone!!!

  1. Hmm – sounds like you really are addicted!
I seem to have the opposite problem – i had intended to do some work/ job applications/ something remotely useful this morning, but so far haven't managed to – the most constructive thing i've done is an exciting sudoku with different colours (eg. red squares can only be 1–4, green 2,4,6,8, etc). And also writing this blog, which if nothing else will give you something to read!

What do we want? Procrastination! When do we want it? Tomorrow!

  4. I spend my time trying to work then failing and watching Eastenders, or something equally as purile. I simply can't make myself work.
