Beaver Scouts

I think that our house (in Leicester) must have a flag pole on it, that is invisible to me, but obvious to everyone else. I also think that is is operated as the one on Buckingham Palace is. Let me explain why…

  • I arrive home on Sunday morning, by Sunday afternoon I had been telephoned by my old kindergarten teacher asking me to be the narrator for the Crib Service on Christmas Eve at Church.
  • Monday, I am telephoned by my employer from last summer and asked if I am willing to work more than 1 week at the summer school.
  • Tuesday, I am telephoned by someone else from Church and asked if I will play at the Christingle Service, and go carolling at local retirement/care homes.

I suppose it is nice to be wanted, and it definitely gives me things to do, which is very welcome.

N.B. Reason for title = tonight I am going back to being called Mole as I go and help out at my local Beaver Scout Colony – what fun!

  3. I do know that feeling to some extent Laura but I fear my flag may be worse. I think it goes up a week or two before I come home in readiness for my arrival. When I got home I was told that I was doing something at church on the Sunday and then going to loads of my little brother's concerts and musicals etc. and I was playing in my Dad's Christmas Orchestra and we were going to see family for the week after Christmas. So basically my holidays were planned before I got back! So much for MSA revision and paid employment!
