Unpaid work on the astros and chav/pikey prevention

Well, being on the Tarkett astro between half 12 and half 2 today, one may have noticed a light attack of snow. Hell, being outside anywhere on campus, I'm sure someone may have noticed this. What's interesting is that by about half 1, the whole place was covered in a fair dusting of snow and yet, by half 2, pretty much the whole area was snow-free. Now in part, this was caused by massive 5 metre slides by certain homicidal maniacs in my 11 aside team – especially one (who shall remain unnamed) who has been deserving of red cards in the last two games, only receiving one in the first of the two games.

The thing of contention here is the fact that basically we removed all the snow from the pitch and I feel we are deserving of some kind of reward for this. Also, by being on the pitch at this/any time, we kept the Cov Chavs off for an extra couple of hours. Certainly something not to be sniffed at.

Now now, all this mob mentality is bad for the brain cells, Kiran.

"Pikies" are people too; in fact, they may not even be "pikies". The "pikie" is a social construct. It's all about the insecurities of masculinity and modernity, you know. Namely the marginalisation of the weak and the impoverishment of the senses. It's all interconnected, interpenetrable and so damn interesting, no?

"Chavs", on the other hand, are scum, natch.

Glad to see you're having fun with the hockey, despite (or because of) the snow.

And good luck with the "presenting" / writing of the D…

Random chatter there "Nigel". Be good to see some cliches (as no-one else responds to me). What is the "(we're only making plans for)" chat? Very random

What's that, don pom? "Nigel" is my nom de plume. I got it back in 'Nam. I say "back", we were actually following a "forward" policy.

When I say "policy", I mean ritualistic slaughter.

    Anyhoo, Nixon 4 President.

P.S. I am disappointed that you have not even heard of XTC. They're a band, and Making Plans for Nigel was possibly their greatest hit, ever. Sort yourself out here: link Senses Working Overtime is another classic. Rock on! Maybe.

P.P.S. I am looking forward to some clichés too, and I have found the book. You might be a tad disappointed, but we're not doomed. It's on the other post…
