in part a) of asignment 3. what does it say where it runs off the page?

it begins; where lambda = sup |2k + u'sub n'| and

||zeta|| = ('sum over n'........?.........)^1/2

what is it summing?

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!

I think it's (zeta'sub n')^2. ie ||zeta|| = sq. root of the thingy just above it on the page… Hope that makes sense!

If you're doing Applied Analysis then I think you're asking for trouble, even though it's probably core for you which is a pity. I did it last year and it was my lowest mark. It's badly taught and is widely considered to be one of the hardest courses in the department.
