The inception

I’ve just started to blog. I’m a PhD student in the department of engineering. My research will analyse the IT role in Supply Chain Organisations. So, I will identify critical questions, problems and competitive advantages in the IT implementation in the supply chain management’s competitive priorities such as: customer service (which focuses on providing highly individualised and customised services), time (which focus on faster production and delivery times), volume flexibility (which is the ability to speed up production to meet peak demands or cut production in slack periods - it is specially important in industries characterised by extreme demand fluctuations) and launch flexibility (for business segments with rapid rates of change both in technology and in style).
