Finchley & Golders Green – Labour hold

Oh man, I have totally loved this – after all the disappointments of earlier in the evening, to know that in my own constituency, Labour had held off an expected Tory gain, fills me with utter delight.

I spent five and a half hours insulting and abusing the Tory party, in front of my Tory-voting flatmate, and to finally have this, not justified or vindicated, but somehow confirmed by the loss of the Tories in Finchley.

I called my dad up, to spread the news – he already knew, and told me to set fire to my conservative housemate's wardrobe —- \0/

Life really rules right now.

Of the remaining seats to be announced, I desperately hope that the Lib Dems take Cambridge. COME ONE, etc.

  1. Finchley and Golders Green is my home constituency too and I'm pleased with the result as Rudi Vis is fairly decent as Labour MPs go. I'm also glad that in spite of earlier giving interviews to the contrary, Bob Marshall-Andrews is back for Medway.

Hail Vis, the wonderful Madden's drinker.

  4. Wasn't Finchley Thatcher's old constituency?

  5. Yes it was, Daisy, although boundary changes since then have made it more marginal. Although it's still Labour, the majority is wafer thin and I can't see how they can hold it next time.
