Hi Zijin,

I in the process of finishing off all my URSS work. This includes writing the report. However, I encountered a couple of questions about it.

First of all, in the FAQs section it said the following: "In addition to your poster you are also required to complete a report, a template is available on the Poster & Report Requirements page, you will also have been sent a copy via email. As a guide, the report should be a summary of your research project and the main findings and should be a minimum of 1 side of A4, but can be longer if needed." This confused me quite a lot as:

1. I could not find a template on the 'Poster & Report Requirements page', not have I been sent a copy via email. Where can I find it then?

2. It says that the report needs to be a minimum of 1 side of A4, but can be longer of needed. However, on the 'Poster & Report Requirements page' it says the following: "Your report will be in the form of an abstract which is typically 100-200 words long and is a concise summary of your research project." What is correct here? How long should the report be?

Could you please clarify that for me?

Thank you very much in advance!

Kind regards,

Jannik :)

Another question came just up: the only ‘Poster Design & Creation Workshop’ that I can find on the internet is held on the 28th November. Obviously, this is too late. In the booklet we were given it says that “Dates and sign-up information will be on URSS website”. However, I could not find it. Where can I find the link or are there any other workshops of the same kind run before the 17th October?

Thanks very much for your help! :)

  2. Dear Jannik,

I’ve just checked your questions with information on URSS Dashborad and Charlie’s email. Here are the answers:

    1) You can find the poster and report requirements and 2 models here: http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/scs/experience/urss/current/requirements/.

    2) From the link above you can find that a 100-250 words abstrat of your research is needed as your report. Charlie further explains that taking this format will benefit your possible publication, as it’s just the right format for a standard research conference proposal or abstract of paper.

    3) Also through the link you can find an e-cource given by Dr. Rachel Hardy-Holbrook about creating and designing academic posters. You can learn from it at any time you like.

Hope this imformation wll be helpful to you. If you experience any further problems, please don’t hesitate to contact me or Charlie.

Good luck with your final report and poster!
