I personally think Google are going a bit too far. They're playing on the fact that brand recognition will allow them to do anything they like, but it can only go a certain distance. Sure, people will download any program they produce, but if they fail miserably it will just ruin Google's name. Google should first and foremost stick to what they're good at: searching. I'm not interested in gmail which everyone became so excited about; all I want is great googling. I think Google is branching out for stockholders (having recently floated), without keeping in mind what the people really want. Besides, Firefox is already (in my eyes) beginning to converge into a perfect browser.
