Six Feet Under

Why is six feet under so damn funny?
It's my favourite programme ever and I've spent the past month (since it was bought for me for christmas) glued to episode after episode every night before I go to bed.
Thing is, fuck loads of people die. My guess is that this appeals because it kinda removes the fear of death by making it a more ordinary occurence. However, people being torn in half by moving lifts should
n't really be light-heartedly received..surely?
I also find all the central characters either exceptionally arousing, amusing or inspiring.
And the last episode of season 4? I'm bloody gobsmacked.
Just have to wait until April now to see the last series.

ONE big old sexy WORLD

OOO. Some good friends of mine put across the following arguement about the big ONE O double double you:

'Why does ONE WORLD week even bother? I find it quite ridiculous that a week which is supposed to celebrate our ONE world in which EVERYONE is a significant part of can be so bloody stupid. Doesn't Mr. ONE WORLD realise that by celebrating ONE world, people get into little cliques with the ethnically similar. It therefore become segregation week. There's no way you would ever see one of the Norwegian society dancing in the Portugese society section.Why couldn't they?I thought it was ONE WORLD, not, like 50 microcosms of the ONE WORLD.'

I, however, totally get that it's reaLLy important for everybody to celebrate their own culture and show everyone else how important it is to be part of that ONE WORLD. So I said. 'Fuck off'.

But now, I'm a little bemused. There are people who REEEAAALLLY hate one world week…despite the fact that you get free Japanese food and…one time I got free red wine (must have been French day).
Any views out there? We all have the right to comment on blogs, after all….it is ONE WORLD.

FIRE A–BLOODY–LARMS!

Well.

Was loving the market-place

BUT THEN

As has happened 6/10 times since I've lived off campus and visited the union (2 years) the fire alarm went off. This time though someone nicked my phone and decided to text people stupid things in order to complicate my life. Ie texting people who'd text me with provocotive or angry messages.

I was in the toilets with my mobile phone back, texting one person and trying to explain this (in a very drunk way) when a big scary bouncer literally pushed me out of the door by the cloak room as I was 'disobeying' him!

Steven Hoon is actually a Godsend and stopped me getting banned from the union. Although I have a funny feeling I won't be going back for a long, long time.

Going into secret hiding now for a while.
