I might be being really stupid but what does the catagory 'PDP' stand for?

It is your Personal Development Planning/Portfolio. You can use it to, over the terms, to consider and reflect on the direction of your intellectual, moral, and career objectives; your goals and aspirations and the steps being taken to achieve them; and to assemble a collection of items that might be useful for you and/or others in following, understanding, and appreciating what you have done. It can include such prosaic elements as course choices, results and reflections on what these show; to the broadest canvas of ambition, opportunity and self–knowledge. The most important things about it (apart from it being a unique record, assembled at the time, and impossible to create at a later time are (a) that it can, in the process of its creation, and in review, reveal many things that are not otherwise apparent, especially directions, similarities, divergencies etc. (b) that it build on and requires to some extent active reflection, interrogation of one's own assumptions and unarticulated ideas – this can only be done by writing (though it is entirely up to an individual who else might see it) and making oneself the subject of ones own writings. That is where PDP and the normal blog come close to one another, and elements of the blog can be used at the time or later in the PDP, and vice versa.
