Is the university going to get rid of my blog?

Now that I've graduated will the university be getting rid of my blog if I don't pay to join the party? It's soo sad to think all my pictures of Mike's toe–nails and references to nature's purses will all be gone forever.

Someone get back to me.

The Handmaid's Tale

Writing about web page http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/5093832.stm

If you've ever read Margaret Atwood's 'The Handmaid's Tale' then you'll be aware of the bit in the book where they meet the tourists on the street.

Essentially the story is of an awful regime running the country doing awful things to the people (I'll not spoil the entire story). One of the most disturbing bits for me was the way that tourists came to visit and even speak to the people living in such awful conditions as abit of a novelty. All the while the people living in constant fear are wondering why no foreign power is coming to help them; the tourists act as a symbol that the outside world is not getting ready to help – far from it in fact.

Now if you read that article from the BBC you may be chilled just as much as I was. I'm not having a go at the pros and cons of tourism; it saddens me that the world is not right.

The BBC describes it as an Orwellian state, with teashops…that really freaks me out.

Everyone seems to have violent diarrhea at the moment

Do you have violent diarrhoea? The excessive and frequent evacuation of watery faeces, usually indicating gastrointestinal distress or disorder? Some people call it 'Sara's Syndrome'.

Michael Jackson

Writing about web page http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/5023290.stm

Michael Jackson thanked fans and "all the people who believed in me" in his first public appearance since his acquittal on child abuse charges.
While Jackson is in Tokyo, he will visit orphanages and business leaders, spokeswoman Raymone Bain said.

Brilliant

I hate the stupid bag of shit (or bags of shit) responsible for the wave of graffiti on campus

I hope they die with spoons in their eyes.

I reeeeally hate graffiti; such a senseless and selfish crime.

Orange juice and revision

Does anyone else find that orange juice really helps them revise?

I find that coffee and tea just put me to sleep (weird, yes? any explanations are welcome) but OJ just gives me energy and abit of focus.

Thankyou orange juice, thankyou.

French Cars

Writing about web page http://cars.msn.co.uk/carnews/ttworsteverfrenchcarsmay06/

I'm not actually going to pass any judgement myself over French cars…rather I followed a link from the MSN Home page (see above) which was called the Top 10 worst ever French cars.

What surprised me was the sheer bile in the article…the hatred…the anger…I loved it!

For example…

Yes, it’s true. In between striking and surrendering, the French do occasionally build cars if only to have something to burn next time they decide to riot.
Ugly, plasticky and with a resale value which retreated faster than a French soldier, the Tagora bombed, selling fewer than 20,000 examples from 1980 and 1983.
Despite being powered by the 2CV’s wheezy two–cylinder engine and about as attractive and lovable as a ginger stepchild, the Ami was France’s best selling car for a number of years. All of which goes to prove the French shouldn’t be allowed to buy cars, let alone build them.

Does nobody remember the lessons they learned from Europe Day?!
