Ultimate Rice Krispies Squares
Writing about web page http://www.kelloggs.co.uk/products/product.asp?id=51
A while ago, me and my housemate Alex went to our local shop and noticed they had "Kellogg's Rice Krispies Chewy Marshmallow Squares" on sale for 35p. We then decided that although these bars are amazing, 35p for what you get was a bit extreme. Alex then took it upon himself to make the ultimate rice krispie square and to do it cheap.
Ingredients
- 4 Packets of Marshmallows
- 1 Box of Rice Krispies
- ˝ a large tin (907g) of Golden Syrup
Cost
About £4 from Tesco
Rough Procedure
- Put all Marshmallows into a very large pot
- Gently heat it and stir it to make sure it all melts
- Add all the rice krispies in and mix it up
- Add half a tin of golden syrup and mix it up
- Continue with the good mixing on low heat (will take plenty of arm work)
- Pour and spoon it all out into a cake tin
- Give it some low heat in the oven for a few minutes to let it all even out
- Cool it down in the fridge to set for maybe a few hours
Result
21cm x 21cm (Thats a real square, unlike Kellogg's) and 7cm deep (Roughly 8×8 x 3 Inches).
Some of the Golden Syrup settled to the bottom so when it was tipped out, there was a thick layer. And also, the tin had to be boiled off with a kettle, and later cut using the biggest and baddest knife available with some severe force. But, it tasted AMAZING. This song has been haunting me…
This is a song I often play in the evening when I'm chilling, thinking, studying etc. Its very good with MilkDrop 3D Visualisations on a screen in a dark room with the room ambiently lit by small coloured lights.
I'm not familiar with much Pink Floyd but this song has kinda stuck in my head for a few weeks now.
For those who are not familiar with the song:
The main lyrics are normal font
Stephen Hawking speaks like this
Female choral type vocals are like this
Pink Floyd – Keep Talking
For millions of years mankind lived just like the animals
Then something happenend which unleashed the power of our imagination
We learned to talk
There's a silence surrounding me
I can't seem to think straight
I'll sit in the corner
No one can bother me
I think I should speak now (Why won't you talk to me?)
I can't seem to speak now (You never talk to me)
My words won't come out right (What are you thinking?)
I feel like I'm drowning (What are you feeling?)
I'm feeling weak now (Why won't you talk to me?)
But I can't show my weakness (You never talk to me)
I sometimes wonder (What are you thinking?)
Where do we go from here? (What are you feeling?)
It doesn't have to be like this
All we need to do is make sure we keep talking
(Why won't you talk to me?) I feel like I'm drowning
(You never talk to me) You know I can't breathe now
(What are you thinking) We're going nowhere
(What are you feeling) We're going nowhere
(Why won't you talk to me)
(You never talk to me)
(What are you thinking)
(Where do we go from here)
It doesn't have to be like this
All we need to do is make sure we keep talking
