A Dearth of Social Activities ??
The staff at Warwick are mostly nice, friendly people – but there seems to be a lack of campus social activities. Perhaps everyone has a riotous social scene outside work, but that's not the impression I get !
How about starting a branch of the InterVarsity Clubs in the area?
Events are organised by members for members – walks, theatre trips, special interest visits, concert and cinema outings, scrabble contests, bridge sessions etc. Individuals usually contribute one event a year to the programme.
We could have a fortnightly? monthly? bar night to discuss ideas as well as socialise – is there anyone out there who would be interested in getting something under way ? or in participating if someone else will get it started?
Jan :-)
I'm interested in getting involved in a club like this. There must be many people on campus, with few familiy and other social connections in this area, who would welcome the opportunity to meet other members of the University informally and off duty….
Do we need a little steering group to get this off the ground?
