GroupWise Webmail Success?

Success? Not Quite

For anyone who has used webmail recently they will be aware of the poor uptimes and lack of general use over the past few days due to a hardware failure. However I have finally received an E-Mail which was sent 20 Months ago!!!! I wonder how long the "hardware failure" has existed for.

It is thankful that the E-Mail wasn't regarding a job offer, or for that matter anything from my department. We rely so much on the E-Mail infrastructure at Warwick and in my opinion it seems to be less than reliable. An example from yesterday is we got an E-Mail at 10am telling us our 12pm lecture was cancelled. I didn't get that E-Mail until 4pm at which time it was obviously no use. I have recently applied for internships and after almost missing an interview the last time the system was down I have now switched to a more reliable E-Mail system completely separate from what is provided by University. Maybe we should revert to old fashion mail or even carrier pigeons either would be quicker or more successful given it takes 20 months to receive an E-Mail in my case.
