Mead Insights – Ian Davenport 'Everything'
Writing about web page http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/newsandevents/icast/meadgallery/
Here is the first of a series of films about some of the works of art around campus – first up, Ian Davenport’s ‘Everything’.
Now, over to you.
We would like to hear your thoughts on Ian Davenport’s work. We want your comments and opinions on the piece in whatever format you like – text, audio or your own videos.
Either add your thoughts to the comments on this blog, or send them to t.abbott@warwick.ac.uk.
I love this piece of art. As someone who knows little or nothing about art, I can still appreciate the relevance and appropriateness of this to the University of Warwick. I guess it conveys my own feelings about the place: fun, modern, bright … and just a little crazy and confusing!
We recently filmed a student in front of it for a video for the PDP programme at Warwick – it worked really well as a backdrop, especially as the student also talks about having fun at Warwick: mms://video.warwick.ac.uk/pdp/warwick_mq.wmv
When are you going to do a piece on Red Square? Wouldn’t it be great to invite some old alumni to comment on that too?!

‘Toil’ in Red Square is on the list, along with ‘The Koan’, ‘Cosmic Wallpaper’ and ‘Let’s Not Be Stupid’ – the one behind the bus stop.
If anyone wants to suggest which works they would like to see covered please let me know.

How about the ‘Untitled’ light installation by David Batchelor in the Atrium of University House? And it would also be interesting to hear what the artists themselves have to say about the pieces if possible…
