Huge, misshapen tree outside one of Beijing’s Malls. To put things in perspective: I’m about 6’4”

What the hell? I ran into this in the 太平洋百货 (Pacific Shopping Centre) Sports Dept. Just looked like one of those crazy screamers you see in American Spring Break videos. Never seen a mannequin like it.

A picture taken by my Chinese friend (more photos by her can be found here). I changed the contrast slightly after the picture was taken. Think it worked out well.

A random picture of my friend’s hand. It looked perfect. So I naturally had to edit it. This time using one of Photoshop’s many filters. I figure it doesn’t look so bad.

Finding a good cake in China is harder than you might think. Something to do with the flour generally used with the cakes. So it was nice to be able to pick up an attractive-looking chocolate cake from a little cake-shop inside a mall.
It didn’t taste too bad to be honest. It was a mouse-cake but thick to the point that it had the consistency of jelly. The top layer was very rich and thick, so a bit heavy on the pallette and stomach. But a nice treat when shared between two!

This is the sign greeting every visitor to one of Beijing’s ‘classy’ malls (this one is the 太平洋百货 – The Pacific Mall). Nothing spells out modernity more than consumerism… and expensive consumerism at that.

Me imitating my friend’s mother in a Haagen Dasz (my friend’s mum was making the same pose).
I have a feeling this is one of those photos that would crop up should I ever have a political career. Good news is I hold the copyright! Wahay!
