Fish Eye

Description:
Random fish, trapped in a bowl. It had some sort of disease that made it float on its side, still breathing, with a massive swollen eye.

Little Teapot

Description:
It gives me tea. Without leaves clogging up my mouth. Therefore it is good.

Tea!

Description:
What was the best thing about Star Trek: The Next Generation?
Patrick Stewart approaching a replicator and demanding “Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.”
Nowadays I do enjoy a pot of Earl Grey.

China Air

Description:
When we arrived in Beijing, we had to get out and wait for a shuttle bus on the runway. Luckily we had the camera to hand and we got a picture of the plane on the runway.
You gotta love planes.

Goose Leg

Description:
Having a meal in a fancy restaurant in China’s Hunan province. The first course was a Goose Leg with a large Mushroom in tomato sauce. Not sure how it was cooked, but it was really delicious.

Baby Feet

Description:
A picture of me in a cab with some “baby feet” pressed into the condensation on the window.

Jianwai Soho

Description:
A picture of the 建外Soho group of buildings crossing a bridge section of the 东三环中路 (Middle of the East Third Ring Road). The taxi’s window was rolled up, hence the relection (unfortunately). But I think the picture does the district justice.
Half of the buildings in the group are still under construction, presumably as part of Beijing’s preparations for Beijing 2008. At night you can see beautiful trails of metal shards flying from the tops of the buildings as construction continues throughout the night.

The Twins Mall 2

Description:
Another picture of the Twins Mall towers a few seconds later from a different angle.

The Virgin Jet Li

Description:
A rather scary-looking and weird, sinic depiction of the Virgin Mary (looking over her blond, blue-eyed child).
She looks like Jet Li from one of his earlier Chinese movies (like 方世玉 Legend/Fong Sai Yuk or 黄飞鸿 Once Upon a Time in China) disguising himself as one of the nuns in the late Mother Teresa’s order.

Neon

Description:
Nothing shouts “MODERNITY” better than flashing neon signs… and lots of them.

Wise Man

Description:
An odd-looking man who is either a representation of Joseph or one of the Wise Men from a Christmas Diorama in China.
Kind of reminds me of Mossman from He-man.
