A walk around Eastern Green and Meriden from home

29/3 – Home to Eastern Green. Alspath, Benton Green, Eastern Green and back home!
11.4 miles, negligible ascent
Very muddy – got soaked through at one point but dried out before I got home.

I wonder if you walk by yourself because when I was in a jogging club we were always advised to go in threes in case somebody twisted their ankle or something so that one person could stay with them while the other went for help. I’m not very keen on walking long distances alone and I know most mothers worry about their daughters going out and about alone although the irony is that the most “at risk” group in society are young men. Unfortunately I know this to be true not only from a statistical point of view but from personal experience, I know four young men who have been attacked by other young men (two of them had mobile phones stolen and the other two were very badly injured) but I don’t know of any women who have had the same misfortune.

  2. I walk on my own mostly or with whoever wants to join me. I did this walk with my boyfriend and the one before with my mum. Mum does a lot of walking on her own too so she’s less worried about me going off alone than a lot of parents would be I think!

    That’s nice, I was a little worried.
