Canon Powershot S60

Writing about web page

I finally made my decision and opted for a Canon rather than a Sony. This was largely because all my cameras in the past have been Canon and I have always been pleased with them. The Canon D300 work camera is excellent but as an SLR not a pocket camera and not always practical when out walking, cycling etc. Its great to have a good camera that has full manual and auto controls but it (almost) pocket sized. The S60 has AE priority features and all the auto settings are similar to what I am used to on the D300.

Its a great camera, which I got from for only 326 compared to the RRP at Jessops of 399. The only down side is that there was no printed manual.

I haven't played around much yet with the manual settings but the images taken on the auto settings are more than satisfactory. Obviously they don't compare with the results from the SLR: I really notice the difference in the colour depth of the image and the overall sharpness, but that is to be expected. I need to play around with it much more to see what it is capable of. Here are some pictures from a recent trip to the Yorkshire Dales.
