A beach near Cirencester
Writing about web page http://www.waterpark.org/keynes.html
Well, its not really a beach but almost. It has sand and pebbles, a lifeguard and there are plenty of people splashing around in the water.
Realising that we didn't stand a chance of actually getting right down the M5 to Weston we diverted to the Keynes Country Park (one of the Cotswold Water Parks) just outside Cirencester. Its a great place with lots to do from lazing in the sun, to walking, boating, fishing, cycling and swimming. The swimming area is fenced off and very safe for children, not really deep enough for a proper swim for an adult though. It was busy but not over-crowded.
It was £7 per car per day but is open till 9pm so if you have a car full and spend the day there it is well worth a visit.
