The one day loads of us really could have done without the rain…and it pisses it down.
So anyone know of any sun dances they can do to make it sunny…or put in good word with the big man upstairs…that would be brilliant
Or to help listen to loads of summery music…or songs with the word 'sun' in the title
IT'S THE FINAL FLING BABY WOOOO
Now to get Tuxedo'd up to the ying yang
There’s been loads of blogs about how annoying the Library Nazis are, so I thought I’d do something to try and find out what makes these apparently evil people tick.
So on my radio show, The Ben n Andy Show, today on RaW, at 1- 3…I’m going to be phoning up the library and asking them about the these library stweard people. Such as do they deem squash as a softdrink, why could they not get a job working at the learning grid, do they lack basic social skills, and many others.
So if you’ve got something you’d like to find out about them…post it here and Ill ask them when I give them a ring.
So just into 1251 am or listen online to The Ben n Andy Show from 1 – 3 today to find out what the library has to say about them

Right, I want to put this to a public vote
Everytime Jamie Oliver and his fat head pop up on TV i want to throw sharp objects at the screen, I want to committ violence.
You see I really do have a deep seated hatred for the fat tongued tosser…or as i like to refer to him as…"the Jar Jar Binks of the cooking world". I really cant stand the smug looking gimp…so I'm putting it to a public vote to see if I'm alone in this view and actually losing it, or is he that damn annoying…and we should start sharpening the pitch forks and hunt him down.
So Jamie Oliver….Fat Tongued Tosser or Pukka Geezer…you decide!
How I'd love it for someone to push that right in his gormless looking face
Right I think I've managed to work out the three coolest people in the world…they've had to pass some very hard tests, but have managed to prove their awesome-ness…So here are who i think the top 3 people in the world are:
1. Dave Grohl:
Yep, Foo Fighters front and generally an awesome man. The brains behind the "best band in the world" (my view, yes i know people will disagree), drumming whore for such people as QOTSA, Garbage, NIN, Tenacious D, Killing Joke to name a few…legend…about to return with the fantastic double album In Your Honour
2. Jack Bauer:
Seemingly the hardest man in America. Only he seems to be able to stop nuclear war/assasination attempts on Presidential hopefuls/virus outbreaks/any apocalyptic thing…apart from Phil Collins releasing another album. And able to put up with a lot of bad stuff (spoliers….wife dead/daughter hated him/got a drug addiction/killed old head of Division/Cut partners arm off/fired from CTU/new bird hates him for letting her ex husband die)...and still carry on kicking ass…as long as its on the hour
3.Karl Kennedy:
The ONLY DR in Australia…at least Erinsborough. Whenever someone requires the hospital he is ALWAYS consulted, despite other doctors possibly working in the hospital. Uber cool man, pulled a very hot/pyschopath Izzy…survived an alcoholic addiction and a near fatal heart attack. Despite being a doctor, even gets consulted on emotional issues and non medical stuff…and singer as well…Truely great man… apparently fictional…the actor who plays him has an album…awesome!
Looks alot cooler than my doctor
So there you go…the 3 coolest peopl eon the planet at the moment…Agree/Disagree…feel free to add yours…forget your politicians and the people who have secured peace…its all about the frontman of a great band, a hard as nails CTU agent, and the coolest doctor in Australia

Yoda will be so pissed if he heres me…but I don't care.
Watched Star Wars III last night…and loved the film – knew I would – and I have decided I want to be a Sith!
Sod being a goody goody Jedi…the Sith are where its at. Granted it can all go a bit tits up if you're a Sith eventually…but in the meantime you can do some cool shit! You get a red lightsabre, you don't have be so stuck up like a Jedi…you get a cool black cloak which makes you look hard, you can choke people and fire blue spaff out of your hands, and you can do whatever you want with your powers, whenever you want.
Being a Jedi is alright i suppose…but you have to be friendly to losers like the Jamie Oliver of the alien world – Jar Jar Binks – whereas a Sith would just lop him in half
Jedi Master ...or Sith Dark Lord ….no competition really…it's gotta be a Sith…and if everything does goes spectacularly tits up…you can say you're sorry for what you've done (a la Return of The Jedi), and come back as a Jedi
So let's here it for the Sith!!
See...even poster's of you are cooler than being a boring Jedi
Until next time folks…check yourself don't wreck yourself

Wow…what a great video…I'm all giddy with excitement…like a little school girl, cus ive just watched the new Foo fighters video.
Yup just now…not at 11.35 as originall planned…and why not…because like a berk I fell asleep and woke up 5 minutes after the video was shown…thankfully I've just caught the 1.55 showing!!
And it's the perfect video to highlight the song…which in turn is the perfect example of In Your Honour…the video has its mellow moments, when the songs at its softest…but everytime the songs cranks it up, the video goes all bold and in your face…and of course mixed in with the awesome Foos performance…whicn in turn is a great example of the Foos hard and mellow approach…with Dave and Taylor all out playing against Chris and Nate's more toned down performance…awesome down right awesome
Jeez this band is fan-freakin-tastic
Foo Fighters "Best of You"...out 30th May 2005
Writing about Filllllums from Hub of Creativity...
I woke up from revising…yes, I managed to accidentally fall asleep while revising…damn you Rilo Kiley and your soothing sounds…to see thie baton passed on from Miss Singh…so why not i thought
The last film I saw at the cinema: It has to be the repeat viewing of Team America i saw with my bro…and I still laughed like a little school girl..if I would have done this on Saturday…i should be able to add the mighty Revenge Of The Sith
Last Film I Watched Otherwise: The uber-cool, very funny Bubba Ho-Tep…staring the B movie God that is Bruce Campbell…man what a film…Soul sucking Mummy, OAP Elvis, black JFK…I love this film!
Films I'm Looking Forward To Seeing: Top of the list is Star Wars Revenge Of This Sith...granted the other two are pap...but i cant wait for this one...fingers crossed that tosser Jar Jar Binks gets killed! And the new Harry Potter film...Tri-Wizard tournament awesomeness, new Batman Film...and the new Guy Ritchie film "Revolver" i think its called…its got Ray Liotta…ace!
Total number of films i own: Jeez…errr id say only about 40…im not as an avid collector of filums as I am for music
Five films that mean something to me: Lord of the Rings The Return Of The King, Robin Hood Men In tights (quite possibly my favourite film ever), Old School (i cant get enough of this film), Goodfellas (you all know how awesome this gangster flick is...Ray Liotta is my hero!),and Godfather Trilogy (sod it, im counting them as one box set)...quite typically male film you may say…but so what, its films I love…besides i don't think i can include my other favourite films (of the ahem adult variety!!)
Honourable Mentions: Anchorman (lordy its brilliant) and 24 (TV i know, but I am addicted to this programme)
Passing the baton…anybody on my favourites list who aint done it…and sod it…anybody that wants to…here's your chance!!

Right it was mentioned that there was too many underground bands on that no one knows. Well it depends on the kind of music you're into. During the Ska Punk section I was not too sure of many of the bands played, cus im a bit of an Indie Rock boy…but there was a lot of happy people dancing and singing along. As im sure was the case when Indie was played and the non Indie kids didnt know who many were.
The problem is always finding the balance…this will always be the problem with Crash when you have strong followers of the different genres present…you play rock and the Indie kids ask for more Indie music…so you play Indie music and the Punk fans come up asking for more Punk music.
On Friday two people came up at the same time…one wanted more mellow music played than what was playing…while her friend wanted heavier music played!!
And I totally understand the idea of wanting more "good stuff" (what does that actually mean) but the problem is this…if we play someone such as Green Day earlier in the night (which we've done before)...people will come up asking for it later, cus they were not there at the start of the night, sitting upstairs or whatever, so we played another Green Day song…and what happens…people come up complaining about the fact that why are we playing so and so band twice…haven't you got enough bands to play.
The issue of not playing really obscure bands…as mentioned on the entry Ive linked to…well that blog answers why we dont…if we do then people complain about us not playing enough "good music" of well known bands. The fact is we do play more underground bands at the start of the night…and the reason why we dont play it later on in the night, is that you get to a point where you cant get away with it…theres more people in, they want to know music they will like…we love playing obscure music, but we can only do it at the start.
The arguments about the Crash Playlist have been around since Crash started with Carter…and we don't expect it to stop…it shows how many big music fans there are out there who love their music.
It's true every Crash we get a lot of guff of people arguing with us that so and so should be played "trust us everyone will love it"...we'd like to,but it's hard enough coaxing people on the dance floor, and keeping them there is hard enough.
Despite the complaints we'll always get, I love doing Crash…it's a great night…I've been going since it started at the end of my first year, and i love helping run it. And we dont not play bands to piss people off, to bore people, to be obscure, to be too obvious…we are just trying to give people a good night…sometime's we're lucky sometime we're not.
But for every person that has complained to me on the night, there are plenty of people there that have come up to me and asked who this band was, they really like it, or they'r having a great night.
So if you don't like the music…we're sorry dudes…chill out at the bar until theres a song you like on…there will be….and keep coming to Crash…it really is a great laugh when you just go with the flow
Cheers everyone…I hope this answers a couple of questions…I know there'll still be people out there not satisfied…sorry!
And ive highlighted bands which i think an average 'alt' kid would know…but its not letting me bold up all my things…so its just got an asterix next to it…sorry bout that!
Ben
Follow-up to Top 3 from The Land of the Bashmore

Ben
Everyone bangs on to me about how brilliant revision lectures…but you know what, i think they're chuffin useless.
You sit in your room, or the godless sunless place that is the library revising away…and you think you're doing a good job of learning the stuff…
…Then you go to the revision lecture…you sit down, and they start talking about what you should know…and you realise…you have not got a bloody clue what they're on about! All revision lectures do is to make me feel worse about my revision, and brick it more for the exams
Save the hassle and just stay wherever you are revising
I'm sure the lectures find something they have never covered, something which is mentioned only passingly in the book…and then bring it up as the first "Ooh you should all know this by now"...what? This is only the first time you've mentioned this, what are you on about?
Yep revisions going swimmingly for me…4 exams then freedom from education at least
God why couldnt they have got in
Apparently in their manifesto it included…
"When elected, our MP will go to the Antarctic, stand in front of the icebergs and shout, 'Stop melting you big, white bastards'"
Class
And John Hemming won my constituency at last the very exciting marginal Yardley in Birmingham…well done sir..first time ever i voted Lib Dem
So to be honest…the lineup for Reading and Leeds this year is awesome…helped by the fact it has the best band in the world playing
THE FOO FIGHTERS wooo
And now more bands have been added, this is whose been added for you Reading and Leeds festival goers this year
HAL, (everyone's on about them…might be worth checking)
Sons And Daughters, (very good band…did the awesome Johnny Cash)
The Rakes (Also good…a good Franz Ferdinand in my opinion)
Art Brut (Over rated guff…how do people like "formed a band"...its poo)
Juliette & The Licks, (some Hollywood-ness with Juliette Lewis playing)
Nine Black Alps, (people are arguing this could be the UK's answer to Nirvana...nevermind that – see what i did there – these are just a good rock band)
The Cribs, (Hey scenesters...this band are very good...check out their first album from last year...part of the Leeds scene )
The Longcut (to be honest aint heard anything by them…Shall's not a fan cus of their hair!)
Editors (yes yes yes…very good band, gotta be checked out)
The Dead 60s (bah…bore me…disappointing when i saw them live)
Blood Brothers(i was in a play called that!)
and a band im really looking forward to seeing: Death From Above 1979, i was really hoping they were added….they are brilliant…just two blokes…bass guitar/drums/weird synth…dirty rock
Bring it on
Thats it…finally after two weeks of typing away like a loon…my last ever essay is completed
No more essays left for me…thank Jebus!
5 essays knocked out at last…finishing on some fun fun fun Business Organisations and whatever the chuff Corporate Social Responsibility is!
Now apparently i've got finalist exams in a few weeks….Cheese It!
Ladies and Gentlemen…Boys and Girls…Children of all ages…and those that don't want to be 'pigeonholed'...
Crash is back tonight…9 – 2 in T'Union…and tonight is going to be a very very kickass tonight
Get ready for the X – Fist…cus we have rightful winners of this years Battle of The Bands…the mighty, the uber-tastic
REPLICA X
We also have playing the head thrashingly good IMPERIAL VIPERS
And for those who like their rock medieval…the kickass FIRE OF PROMETHEUS
On Top of that…very excitingly (for me anyway) we'll be playing the new Foo Fighters song "Best of You" …which if you have not heard is fan-fookin tastic
And non-excitingly…I'll be co-DJ'in tonight, instead of just twatting about on the mic…watch me clear the dancefloor with a Foo's b-side!!(only joking)
Indie,Rock, Punk…Genre's who needs'em
CRASH TONIGHT…come n play kids
It's gonna be an ace one!
Seen a couple of people do this name alias thing…and they got some really cool names.
Now i don't know if i answered it slightly wrong…or i like some really crap stuff…but all my names sound cack…all these aliases would make me sound more of a gimp than i already am (which is quite)
I want to be a rock star…But Im supposed to call myself "Jaffa Cake Cheetah"…how bad is that! Just look how crap my aliases are

Went to see this film today at the Warwick Arts Centre. I got in for free on the RaW gravy train.
It's written and directed by David O. Russell, the man behind Three Kings, that one about Gulf War I. This also has that man with the one facial expression, 'Marky' Mark Wahlberg, in. And Jude Law, Dustin Hoffman and Naomi Watts.
It's a comedy based around an environmental activist called Albert (Jason Schwartzman) who has a existential crisis so goes to an existential detective agency, run by Hoffman and his wife. It all gets a bit silly and Albert meets Marky, a fireman – sorry, firefighter – who is in a similar predicament and who rants about petroleum at every given opportunity.
You've also got Brad (Law) – who's a executive with Huckabees, a chain of supermarchés, and is also getting involved with Albert's environmental campaign. He takes over leadership of Albert's project so there's a big rivalry thing going on. Then there's his bird (Watts), who's a model with Huckabees. Very soon they all start questioning reality.
It's funny, in a quirky way. If you liked The Royal Tenenbaums, you'll like this. Probably more laugh-out-loud moments, actually.
As for the philosophical content, I was kinda let down. As a self-respecting intellectual, I'm fairly into my existentialism – have been since before The Matrix, have been since before I even knew what existentialism was. But this didn't really say much to make me think. You had rival existential detectives – Hoffman and his wife vs. this French bird. One reckoned that everything in the universe is connected; the other thought that nothing was. And that's about it. Didn't really like the special effects which came with the philosophising either.
So, on the whole: 7/10
This is what I was referring to in the last one but Jesus! this is about as far away from comedy as you can get! However, the point is it works.
He'll only come home at night
If he hasn't been in a fight
Down at the pub, he's ready for his dinner
Watching and waiting
He's an hour late and his lamb chops won't get much colder
He's fumbling with his key
He doesn't sound very happy
Your husband is drunk, only two quid for a pint of Stella Artois
Something's the matter
Make a run for it now but you ain't gonna get too far
(Oh-oh, here he comes) Watch out girl he'll smack you up
(Oh-oh, here he comes) He's a wife beater
(Oh-oh, here he comes) Watch out girl he'll smack you up
(Oh-oh, here he comes) He's a wife beater
I wouldn't if I were you
You know what he can do
You've got a nasty black eye but he doesn't really care
Now give him his dinner
Sure, tell the police but he'll say that you fell down the stairs
(Oh-oh, here he comes) Watch out girl he'll smack you up
(Oh-oh, here he comes) He's a wife beater
(Oh-oh, here he comes) Watch out girl he'll smack you up
(Oh-oh, here he comes) He's a wife beater
