Weekend antics

Well, as ever I’ve little actual news to impart – so instead I shal rant about my recent activities and see if I actually mention anything pertinent.

Well firstly I’ve finished writing up my NVQ unit 1, which appears to me to be 2000 words of claptrap. Unfortunately as the boss is skiing atm I’m not entirely sure if what I’ve done is appropriate.

Went into Ipswich on Friday, it is indeed a little chavvy in places (there’re all these nice people at lunchtime wtf do they go on a saturday night???!) but I had a good night. Heck even had a girl chatting to me – first in a very long time – but as I’m not hanging around Ipswich much longer (for now) and I’m still basically in 2 minds about if I want another relationship right now, I wasn’t too fussed when she said she was leaving. Saturday began with the obligatory hangover, before wandering into town to sit in Starbucks and write the annual letter to my Mum for mothers day (well only been doing it 4 years now, but it’s a nice thing and beats a phonecall I reckon). Bought 2 dvds on Amazon one Pans Labyrinth +2 other films, and the other Season 1 Boston Legal, they’ve gone home – the letter says one’s hers the other’s mine her choice (Spannish horror/fantasy not her thing so I reckon BL).

Saturday evening I was sat in the dining room and one of the guys came over and asked if anyone was up for a visit to London. Was in two minds at first, but lets face it the more you put yourself forward the more you get out of life – so I went :)
Didn’t really know anyone there (heck only vaguely knew the guy who invited me, but everyone was really friendly (even had my job described as glamourous, although I’m slightly convinced the girl was nuts). Couple of bars then wandering around London till 3am looking for a bed/sofa/floor at one of a number of peoples houses.

Sunday, what a day! Up about ten, walked to a nice cafe by the side of Clapham Common and sat down for about the next 4 hours drinking coffee and tea and unashamedly watching a stunning number of beautiful women walk by (not that I would regularly, I was led astray damnit! Was a beautiful day though). Then played cricket for a bit (4 of us, 1 ridiculously good, 1 good, 1 bad, 1 bloody awful (a girl ;) ) – I was the bad one), which was fun. Then wander up to North Clapham to a pub to watch the rugby (England have been really mediocre all tournament, but that was an awesome game) – stayed there pretty late. Met some great guys, including a self employed merchant banker who was a nice bloke too and a Scandanavian helli instructor – last seen comatose on the back seats of the pub as we left.

[OK, leaving a guy absolutely off his face in a pub is bad (bar maids weren’t too impressed either – apologies) – but as was pointed out to me, he has a reputation of doing this a lot, knows London very well and is, let us say, well versed in survival skills and training]

So then it was last train home time and to bed. Did mean I’d broken the rule of three (nights in a row) so my system was a little screwed yesterday, but otherwise all is well.

Running didn’t happen on weekend and being rather delicate hasn’t happend this week so far either, but should sort that soon (1/2 marathon seems to get a day closer every 24 hours strangely).

Plans for future? Erm, well I’ll prob play next weekend or so by ear (heck it worked this weekend), plus at the end of the month I’ve got a party in London to go to. Seems I’m the only Warwicker to have confirmed so far (for shame! I’d have attended if it were 1/2 way up the country, admitedly it’s only a lil over 2 hours by train from here), but it should be cool, plus after the last weekend I’m a lot more confident about knowing practically no-one at first.

Ooh-eck, that was a lot. Later.
