The Storyteller – Best Programme Ever Made by Man

5 out of 5 stars

Uh Oh Spaghetti-ohs.
Bought another DVD instead of writing an essay, but this time it is better than The Princess Bride - it is the one and only, the most legendary televisual experience every known to man and to puppets: The Storyteller

I think this 'plot outline' is a pretty good explanation: An old storyteller and his sarcastic dog tell obscure fairytales.

"I am a teller of stories, a weaver of dreams. I can dance, sing, and in the right weather I can stand on my head. I have a little magic and a trick or two. I know the proper way to meet a Dragon, I can fight dirty but not fair, I once swallowed thirty oysters in a minute. I am not domestic, I am a luxury, and in that sense, necessary."

– how good is that?

I LOVE this series, once again, anyone is welcome to borrow it once I have been reunited with the best thing in the world…

Trolls, talking lions, children that turn into ravens, a boy that is also a hedgehog, a swamp full of terrible creatures and a ring-based plot that walks all over Tolkien's little tales.

  1. That's bold, Ms Clapham, to claim this show's superiority over the literary body of Sir Tolkien. Still, my dear, you are nothing if not bold!

Indeed, I am an afficinado of the fanciful and imaginative, as you may have determined. So bring your crazy DVDs to my room and we'll eat biscuits.

is this the same storyteller i loved in high school. did we watch it in drama lessons when the teacher couldn't be arsed to do anything that involved too much noise?
