Rat – thoughts, anyone?

Sock-sharp, stickling feet,

Knowing breath, knowing teeth,

Leathered gloves, tickled belly,

Sniff-nose a slicky-slime balloon,

Jugular clock a tick-tock-dickery

Sexing rhythm a jukebox swoon.

Under water, under snouting mud,

Fleas flee toe-tippley drunk on blood,

Drunk on creed-suck of canker sweat,

Bulbous salt of nose, of lip,

Shudders in pipe, shudders breath,

Humans’ calloused plague-ridden pet.
