share your understanding

I believe that promoting organisational collaboration should be considered as an approach that is aimed on promoting teamwork, mutual trust and shared vision this as a result lead individual and teams to achieve superior performances. For example, working in team during my KBAM module and indeed throughout this year allowed me to express my creativity and todiscover and experiment new ways of doing things and this has enriched me both at personal and professional level. I hope that I will have the opportunity to share this understanding with my future colleagues and help and support them when they will need. I strongly believe that following these principles will improve not the work environment and my perfomancesbut also my personal life.

sharing is power

Although, technologically speaking be connected collaborating and sharing knowledge today is extremely easy, people are always more distant each other. I believe that the only way for engaging people in sharing knowledge is to promote internal and external socialization. Unfortunately, until today many organisations believe that their power comes from the knowledge that they hold, however, they should understand that knowledge release power only when they are shared.

People and KM

Although, I believe that AM and KM are not the solution for all the challenges that organisations face today, if we are able to apply these two approaches effectively we can build an excellent organisation. I think that we should consider KM as an approach that encourage people to interact and communicate, indeed this require an effective leadership, but the focus here is on people. It is important giving the freedom to express their knowledge creatively otherwise our organisation will not be able to keep the pace of competition.

Are you an EU or a UK citizen?

I learned that together everyone win, but what happens to those that want to stay alone. I learned that diversity drives progression and innovation, but what happens to a country that prefers to protect its national heart. During this year I have read and wrote a lot about the vital importance of establishing networks and communicating with others. Thus, my question is: what happens if the country where you live does not want to be connected to the rest of the EU?

Due to the economic impact that the results of this referendum will have today is going to be remembered as the Black Swan day, as many newspapers have named it. While someone like Nigel Forage believes that today is the best day in their life, I simply believe that today is a sad day for everyone because each single EU citizen today lost an important part of its community. The entire society lost, because million and millions of people today feel more alone than yesterday! The EU lost, because it was not able to achieve its vision! The UK lost, because from today this country cannot feel itself any more part of a big community, losing the opportunity to play a key role in making Europe a better place for next generations.

I think today has been a crucial day for Europe! I wish that our governments could seriously start to consider this mistake as a great learning opportunity and work harder together for creating a stronger sense of belonging to the dream of EU as a community, founded on passion and aimed on supporting our rights, peace and wealth!!!!

PMA

Today I worked on my PMA, I read a lot about asset management and this enabled me to understand that when we develop an AM implementation plan we need to consider the people dimension as the most important. In fact, it is crucial understanding that actualize an AM plan require changes and these changes will have a strong impact on our people. By implementing an AM plan we are going to change the way by which people work, interact and behave. Therefore, it requires leaders that are able to communicate with their workforce and even more important to listen them. Doing so, it can be possible to involve our people in the transformative process and understand their concerns and needs. So adopting this approach enables organisation to catalyse the transformative process and certainly to maximize the use of their assets. To me, an effective AM plan is the one that link process, people and workflow, indeed, it is not easy blending all of these three dimensions but as I wrote in my previous blogs, the journey towards excellence is hard.

poeple people people

I believe that today there are just few organisations that are able to optimize the use of their resource, probably because most firms are only focused on maximizing their profits. However, during all of the modules that I have done through this year I have developed the idea that if an organisation is more focused on improving the way by which it creates values for its stakeholders there is no need to afraid about profits. In addition, leaders and managers should understand that any corporate is made of people therefore, only by developing their workforce organisation can grow and flourish.

THINK–REFLECT–SHARE–GROW–BUILD

I believe that what I am learning during the KBAM module is much more than simply understanding new techniques and theories, it puts people at the very heart of any organisational process with the aim of developing new organisational capabilities and harnessing people’s creativity . To me, managing knowledge demand a lot of efforts form the entire organisation, but it can only be effective if leaders are able to build an environment based on trust and respect. To be honest I do not think that today many organisations/leaders are aimed on supporting and investing on their people because they are more focused on maximizing profits and minimizing costs. However, I believe that organisations who adopt this approach cannot achieve sustainable results. In fact, achieving excellence is hard and it can be achieved by promoting a culture where people do not fear to share their knowledge and ideas because they know that knowledge and insights are powerful when are shared. Therefore, sharing knowledge, experience and expertise require developing a new mid-set that enabled teams/organisation to constantly improve their approaches. TOGETHER EVERYONE WIN

MBE STUDENTS CAN CHANGE THE WORLD

I believe that KM is usually underestimate in many organisation. In fact, last week I interviewed a manager of a big organisation and he highlighted the fact that still today in many organisations often senior managers do not allow the exchange of knowledge and information between expert workers and new employees. Indeed, I was very shocked, he explained me that some executives believe that having too many expert can be too expensive for the organisation. To me, this is UNACCEPTABLE.

Organisations need to understand that only constantly creating, disseminating and integrating new knowledge throughout the organisation it can be possible keeping the pace of the competition. I believe that thanks to the KBMA and on the knowledge that I have already acquired from the previous modules I will be able to effective lead my TEAM.

KBAM the hugest topic

Today I worked on my presentation and I have been focused on KM. I believe that being able effectively manage the knowledge within the organisation is really difficult since it implies to consider in deep the people dimension. In fact, I think that even though different techniques and approaches can be used for helping the management of knowledge the critical factor is putting at the heart of any process the human aspect. Indeed, to me leaders play a crucial role in the creation of an environment where knowledge and acquired and spread across the entire organisation. Well, in spite of KBAM is a really huge topic I think that I am starting to grasp the fundamental meaning of this module and I hope that I will be able to apply this knowledge in my future organisation.

why knowledge are so important?

The internet networking people and knowledge and shortening the distances has changed the world. Today organisations should understand that seeking knowledge only internally not only limits their ability in understanding problem and thus, making sound decisions but also weaken their ability of keeping the pace of change. In this context, KM should be seen has an approach that facilitates the link between internal and external organisational environment aimed on enhance organisations’ capability in capturing processing and integrating external knowledge with internal expertise.
