To the current GTPs and last years cohort, I have begun the MA journey. The first session was a couple of weeks back, with contact day number 2 tomorrow.
With the courses on offer that are eligible for an Educational Innovation MA, I think the Issues in Assessment will provide me with the best opportunity to improve my practise, and also to develop a much deeper understanding of how education works from all perceivable view points.
I am looking forward to tomorrow. I have a number of current 'Issues with Assessment' within my current job, concerning my own personal use of summative assessment data, and also my department's. How much students should know etc etc.
I am aware a case study is required for tomorrow, though I am not so sure where this should be pitched, but guess I'll roll with the punches as always.
In other news, had another observation this week. It went well, and am finidng hard to comprehend I am already half my through my induction year as an NQT. Half term is busy, revision day on Wednesday all day with year 11. Also, the Head of Physics job has just come up at my school. Now do I apply or not?
Anyways, MA people, look forward to seeing you tomorrow, might even get there on time and actually meet some of you properly. To all others, happy half term.

So, have my final assessment in 6 hours 49 minutes. It is 1.41am as I start this blog....
So, had a nice little evening planned, printing off some final things, making a rather awesome tracker for Hay to get blown away.... but ended up in hospital for 6 hours instead!
Anyway, whilst printing off said stuff, thought I'd reflect on my bad luck....
Good luck to all who are being assessed in the near future,

As a yes man, I have found myself running a couple of holiday revision days. Today was a year 11 triple science group in to do some high end Physics. It was good for me, as i managed to introduce, snooker, golf, cricket and Lego into my demonstrations. I would like to thank, in no particular order; Momentum, Projectiles, Relative Motion and Collisions for being topics conducive to showcasing my hobbies. I particularly enjoyed the video I made re-en acting my wedding. Awesome.
Anyway, had a really great day, and I hope it will help out the students who attended today. Was good to see those who were in my tutor groups. I have missed them lots since last Friday's final day!! Have AS level tomorrow for the day, looking at electronics in particular..... wowser.
In other news, had masters feedback this week. Main issues seem to involve my literature review, and how it could have been extended. Truth be told, I would have loved to followed the ideas that were mentioned, but 5000 words was too short a word limit to achieve everything.
Also played two golf matches this week in my club's knockouts. Won both the games, and you'll find me in the last 16 of the handicapped singles knockout, and today got through to the semi final of the scratch knockout. Played awesome and I am starting to feel like I'm getting back on it, and I am enjoying it.
Only 5 days til my final assessment, and 3 of those I'll be away at my bro's stag do. Tuesday is going to sting!
