are we expecting to make the best decision with uncertain information?

I am not quite sure whether people value the responsibility for being a doctor. Beyond of how the new technology aid them day-by-day to safe human life, doctors are aware the importance to learn and learn everyday to avoid the lack of knowledge in rush situation. In fact, decision making with uncertain information, is commonly happened into the hospitals. However, the big different in taking better decision in a situation by doctors in comparison with the rest of professionals is essentially the final outcome “life or death”. So the thing is, we certainly should learn new knowledge more often regardless this is not related with the main activity heading for us everyday. In this way, we might ensure to expand more our minds and achieve better decisions.

RDM–believe or not new knowledge coming from people before to prove it.

Being on lectures yesterday I found the fact of how I have been spreading and putting in practice some experience from several people which I had in the past. The different thing for me was when Jeff said, even though these experience are coming from people who has a good academic background or have been handling the same procedure for long time, you need to be aware at the beginning avoid to believe all information. Why??? As I understood we have to consider that everything has to be proved because for instance you do not know whether or not, even thought this is the only knowledge so far be implemented, there are the possibility that it has made in a wrong way. Well, it did make sense for me, however knowing this, I would like to read more about it and decide afterwards how to react of this way of management of knowledge.

Le–succesful time management

Hope guys the dinner yesterday night has been the opportunity to know more each other and definitely for me it was. Thanks wazeen for dealing our dinner. All right, even though is Saturday, following Paul’s recommendation to refresh for a while, its difficult to stop myself in at least planning how I am going to manage this free three weeks. Going back for the blog that I did two days before, I am the only one who can lead the next step. So, guys the best start is to make a list with every single task including staff such us shopping food, gym and different activities that you guys are covering. It might be silly to advice it, because perhaps most of you are already doing it. However, I am so interested to make myself in managing the time very well and avoiding to say “ OMG, I don’t have time for anything’’. LE–do you mind to take the finally decision?

Again the exercise for today let me release another important point. It might be simple for everyone; however, I like to point out guys how we started to find out the way of winning. Believe or not, the first time that we came to computer, we did not even know what we were going to ask. So, in this way, we discovered through the system the key to continuo our analysis in order to finish the game. According to above, for this time it does worth to tend other ways to get further information, nevertheless in the real world, the issue is when we do not have many opportunities in deciding the right decision, which might cost a lot of money. I felt that others teams were attempting to understand better the information instead to go to the computer and perhaps to discover what it might happen. Right, I might be wrong, making some judgment without to know more details about the failure of the others groups. But, to be honest, the point is what I confirmed today that it’s a good practice to moving on in order to cover all the information and at least make the effort to find out each component of the system or procedure, which is being evaluated. Time costs a lot, so we always have to be aware how to manage it on the best way. Furthermore in this special stage of the journey is when leaders have to be strong, handling massive security and support each member in going to sort out the activity as much as possible. Essentially this is because everyone might not be leader, due to this particular person does not have the determination to take the decision, no matter the result.

LE–who is currently your leader?who is inspiring you

Yesterday after Graeme's lectures, I had a huge reflection basing on the coaching exercise. I was with turn handling the exercise and we worked in how to create a good time management. Well, I was pretending to recognize based on her actions, how to improve it. As a result, I just like to refer one of the areas for improve which made me think long time, the fact of how to be dedicated as well as be willing to come back after take a break in continuing to accomplish whichever activity is carrying on. Hence, I wrote as a title “who is your leader? Because of how are you guys leading yourself in spending the time required for this master? To be honest, its so difficult to say that I am aware of dividing the time very well all the requirements such as assignments, project, mini projects, so on. So, for that reason, this challenge is much hard in the sense of nobody will be behind telling you “please johnnatan come back to your job otherwise you will fail it”. Anyway, I guess all of you guys know the form of how you are carrying on this opportunity and but to be honest, Leadership and excellence has made me be more aware the responsibility which we are acquiring in WARWICK..

LE–do you guys still find hard to assess each other?

We had today a good simulation called HOTEL, which provided good experience. Highlighting one of the good points came up again, do you guy still find hard to assess each other?, in my personal opinion, areas for improve are the hardest part of it. Well I feel that we don’t like at all to put our colleagues in embarrassing situation or perhaps we avoid to damage a bit the relation. However, during this module, we have had the opportunity to do the feedback for leaders as well as members for many times and currently we are more comfortable assessing in order to provide a good feedback for each member. Going back to the hotel simulation, I haven’t seen such interested person as wazeen for getting his feedback in the group. According to wazeen answer and my view certainly, this practice can make you realize how you are perform in terms of behavior, style and so on. Surely we will keep the significance for doing feedback in our future and how we will have to address in the sense of avoiding to make it complex and effectively. Well done wazeen.

LE–getting precise when time is of essence..

After we finished the lecture today, we have too many ideas to face with our thoughts. I like to point out something that I will attempt to keep in my mind for my next job experience. I am talking about how to manage time towards to accomplish the goal. To be honest I do not like at all pushing colleagues, however how might it affect my performance as a leader? According to our experience today during seminar 1, taking care of time, make a save environment where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and at least you will not miss any point. In this sense, scheduling what the team is doing it might manage better in resolving the current issue and each member will be aware that they have to answer the question straight avoiding things which not contribute at all. Nevertheless, to obtain good practice on it, will take me a long time. But for once again, the exercise today demonstrated to me that acting like that worth it.

LE – undesirable task

I got an important point today from Paul with regard to undesirable task. This is something that it has been in my mind for a while because I always have attempted to make happy the members of my team. One of my strategies with it has been to improve this undesirable task in order to make easier and comfortable. This is not simple as people think, mostly when the organization does not bother to provide the resources required for improving any undesirable task. Going back to my former experience in Rimax (plastic injection molding) from Colombia, during my training there, one of the best contribution from me was to demonstrated for my manager the needs to change the dimensions for just a simple ladder. It might be ridicules in the beginning, however, believe or not, the changeover time for one of the biggest machine (essentially the activity is to exchange the mold in order to start a new running), has been presenting overtime due to the workers had to put too much effort using an unqualified ladder. Afterwards, the voice of the customer (team members) was listened because they start getting better changeover time using appropriate tools. So, in my personal opinion, to improve the level of difficulty of undesirable task might be a good way to employ as well as rotates members avoiding to keep the same person, which is unfair. Furthermore there is still the question of how to deal with this difficult decision as a leader
