LE – we assessed our leader today.

I found today as a good practice to assess performance of leaders and team members. I imagined myself in a company being a manager and I really would like to implement very often the possibility to assess my behaviour and how I am leading the group to accomplish all targets from my team members. This practice is currently doing mostly by human resources department. Nevertheless, my aim is to do it more often. As a first example of how to implement this purpose is to have a pot where the members of my team might deposit their opinions. Following this, I will do the same, written down my opinion of each other. Afterwards, we would have a meeting where everyone will be able to explain what happened according his or her suggestion. I do not know whether or not, I might damage the job environment, rather than improve it. In this way, my intention will be to understand each team member, their behaviours, how their performance, their problems and why sometimes they are not providing 100 % of their capability. According to the exercise today, our leader listened some comments, which I might say, he would have thought by himself. Perhaps, I am thinking very positive and in the majority of the cases, employees do not take care for what managers think about them, however, using this way, they at least might have the opportunity to express more confidently what is not running very well because of I am acting as blind person who thought that everything is fair

LE–lifeboat was definitely a good started


Today we had a great started. we came up with important points based on the exercise of how leadership might be seen by different perspectives. In my case, I confirmed personal view of leadership in term of, firstly leaders have to be a good listeners otherwise they might not be able to put in the right way people to contribute in order to work out any problem. Secondly, personality and behaviours take a strong part of becoming a good leader and lastly leaders need to be strong in making decisions even though this is not the best one. Following this, the last view will take me further time to understand 100 % because of my job experience, I am the person who takes risk and makes desicions regardless I have not taken in consideration all the things that I had to assess, but at least I can do it rather than people who has better knowledge, however,they do not like to have any responsability we will see how this module might help us to understand and provide ourself new knowledge to be as a good leaders in the future.

where was the bottleneck?


I have changed completely my thought regarding to the meaning of bottleneck. It has been due to the plane exercise in which we have been working until now. Essentially one of our colleagues (operator number 2) was struggling in the beginning of exercise. It might have been due to: he could not be following very well the plane instructions, the first operator made under pressure to him (the first operator was working really quickly) and apparently this stage could have been one of the tricky ones. Once the exercise done, Graeme asked for who has been the bottleneck and of course I said to myself the second operator. However the surprise was when Graeme said ‘’ it was not him at all’’. He said, no matter how long time the second operator took to finish his job, the rest of the operator’s were working in the same time performance though. The third operator could have been the only one who wasted sometime but the rest of the people were working on the plane without any extra time. It seems that I should have been considered each operator within the supply chain rather than just judged the second operator. I am so glad how this type of practical exercise can show us different perspectives according to the real life.

convince yourself first.


The first seminar gave us important frameworks in order to how could a CEO convince the board to adopt the excellence model, being in my opinion extremely useful for our way towards excellence. Personally, I would like to point out the most important issue will always be “convince yourself first”, it does not only for to adopt excellence model, it must be for everything that we will be doing in the future as a leaders. Guys not matter which information, job or task you are believing, doing or implementing, you must never forget people such us workers, family, possible customer, etc. They will be looking around you all the time which means that you have to show your best performance.

Concerning our discussion today about how to manage the workers in term of personnel rotation, make the environment more positive for them and try to give them satisfaction whether one of them feel good to doing the same task every day, I am searching and still improving my knowledge about it. Furthermore, I would like to do my best in the future as soon as I start to be a leader.

I would like to proof how EFQM could work well in my country, knowing the way as most of the people in my country need to ask everything for the leader how to do, even though they already know how to sort it out the problem. What is the reason??? they do not like to carry on with the responsability regardless they are the right person to offer the best way to do.
