Removing field codes for electronic submission
If you need to submit your work electronically, you will need to remove the field codes which EndNote Web uses to format your document.
If you are using Word 2007:
- Create your document and bibliography as normal
- When you are ready to submit it, click on Convert Citations and Bibliography and select Convert to Plain Text in the Endnote Web tab.
- This will create a completely new file. Save this file as normal. This is the one which should be submitted electronically.
If you are using Word 2003:
- Create your document and bibliography as normal
- When you are ready to submit it, click on the Remove Field Codes icon on the EndNote Web toolbar. This is the icon with the # symbol on it.
- Click OK.
- This will create a completely new file. Save this file as normal. This is the one which should be submitted electronically.
Note: if you want to make any further changes, you should do this using the original version of your document (the one with the references in grey shaded boxes) and then repeat the process above to get a new, final version for submission.
